Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a plurality of data streams in a wireless broadcast system are provided. The method includes mapping the plurality of data streams onto a super-frame that includes a plurality of frames; inserting signalling information in a first signalling information field for assisting in the reception of a first number of said plurality of data streams for a given frame, the first number being less than or equal to a limit applicable to each of the plurality of frames; dependent on a number of data streams for the given frame being greater than the limit, inserting signalling information in a second signalling information field; inserting said first and second signalling information fields in a preamble section of said given frame; and transmitting the plurality of frames.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for realizing fully customized mobile advertisement services based on notifications. Such systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments, allow for full customization of advertisement content, display time, and location. A notification framework may be utilized to transmit and receive notification messages that include information about at least one of a scheduled advertisement period, announcement of the availability of at least one advertisement, and a trigger of presentation associated with the advertisement.
Abstract:
An improved system and method for transmitting a multiplexed service stream over an error prone DVB-H channel. Media IP packets are priority labeled. For each time slice burst, the IP packets are grouped based upon the priority labels. MPE-FEC matrices are made for the different priority labels in each time slice burst. RSDT columns are computed such that the average service bit rate does not overshoot the maximum allowed service bit rate, and the protection increases with priority. The ADT and RSDT of the MPE-FEC matrices are then encapsulated into MPE-FEC sections.
Abstract:
Apparatuses may perform and methods may include: receiving a digital broadcast signal that includes an Electronic Service Guide (ESG); extracting and assembling the ESG; extracting from the ESG signaling information which links one or more services in an upper level layer of a broadcast protocol to a physical layer of the broadcast protocol. Based on the signaling information, one or more services from a broadcast system may be accessed.
Abstract:
A hybrid broadcast receiver (20) and method (300) of operating a memory (28) in the receiver (20). The memory (28) is used to store received data being processed in the receiver (20). The receiver (20) is configured to receive both a terrestrial signal (12) broadcast by a terrestrial transmitter (14) and a satellite signal (16) broadcast by a satellite transmitter (18). Terrestrial data from the terrestrial signal (12) is stored in a terrestrial portion (30) of the memory (28) that includes a top end (36) or first location (52) of the memory (28). Satellite data from the satellite signal (16) is stored in a satellite portion (32) of the memory (28) that includes a bottom end (38) or last location of the memory (28).
Abstract:
Apparatuses may perform and methods may include: receiving a digital broadcast signal that includes an Electronic Service Guide (ESG); extracting and assembling the ESG; extracting from the ESG signaling information which links one or more services in an upper level layer (ULI) of a broadcast protocol to a physical layer (L1) of the broadcast protocol. Based on the signaling information, one or more services from a broadcast system may be accessed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a reception device, characterized by, a reception section (2), an amplification unit (21, 23 or 25), a demodulation section (41), an error correction section (43, 46 or 49), an error rate calculation section (61, 62 or 63) an operation changeover block (65c), a comparison section (65b), and an adjustment unit (65).
Abstract:
In a broadcast network environment comprising a first broadcast network and a second broadcast network, each broadcast network for broadcasting a plurality of services, each service identifiable by a respective service identity, and in which mobile receivers are assisted to handover reception of a service from one of said first and second broadcast network to the same or a similar service in the other of said first and second broadcast networks, by transmitting handover data toward said mobile receivers, which handover data comprises a mapping between a service identity of a service in said first broadcast network and a corresponding service identity of the same or a similar service in said second broadcast network, a method of generating said handover data for transmission to said mobile receivers, characterised by the steps of said first broadcast network: (a) receiving a broadcast signal from said second broadcast network; (b) for said service identity in said first broadcast network, using a likely common identifier to search for one or more corresponding service in service information data found in said broadcast signal, whereby if available said corresponding service identity of the same or a similar service in said second broadcast network is discovered.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method and a device for multiplexing data flows designed in particular to integrate data flows in burst mode in multiplex data flows. The invention comprises at least one multiplexer (3), inputs (1) of multiplex (10) data flows (Fa, Fb), inputs (21) of burst-mode data flows (Fc, Fd), at least one manager: selecting an input (21) for transmitting the next data burst; assigning to the filling level of the virtual buffer (22) of the selected input (21) the sum of filling levels of virtual data buffers (22); attributing to the filling level of the virtual buffers (22) of the other inputs (21) a null value.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a digital broadcast receiver including a Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) module for receiving digital broadcastings of multiple channels; an output unit for outputting voice and image signals of the digital broadcastings; and a controller for controlling the DMB module to receive the digital broadcastings while successively and automatically switching the channels at a predetermined time interval, and controlling the digital broadcasting data received in the DMB module to be transmitted to the output unit.
