Abstract:
There is provided a transmission device, including circuitry configured to receive alert information including metadata related to a predetermined pronunciation of a message. The circuitry is configured to generate vocal information for the message based on the metadata included in the alert information. The circuitry is further configured to transmit emergency information that includes the message and the generated vocal information for the message.
Abstract:
Usage data associated with a user of a telephonic device is accessed by a remote learning engine. A service or a product that is likely to be of interest to the user is identified by the remote learning engine based on the accessed usage data. A recommended voice bundle application for the user is determined by the remote learning engine based on the accessed usage data. A recommendation associated with the recommended voice bundle application is transmitted from the remote learning engine to the telephonic device. The recommendation is presented by the telephonic device to the user through voice communications. The user through voice communications has accepted the recommendation determining is determined by the telephonic device. In response to determining that the user has accepted the recommendation, the recommended voice bundle application on the telephonic device is executed by the telephonic device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and computer program product for automated configurable acoustic reproduction of Internet site content, in particular via a telephone line. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a computer program product creating a novel link between telephony and Internet, and thereby allowing automated and flexible acoustic telephonic access to the Internet. In order to achieve said aim, a method according to the invention comprises the following steps for automated configurable acoustic reproduction of Internet site content: a) storing a personal target telephone number for a user in a PC application connected to the Internet, b) selecting at least one piece of target information available via a URL by means of the user and storing the URL and the target information under the personal target telephone number in the application, and c) selecting the target telephone number by means of the user and subsequent acoustic reproduction of the target information from the application by means of a reproduction unit.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for converting text messages into voice over IP calls which comprises providing a text message contained in an HTTP request (200) entered by a source user (1, 100) through a Web interface, with an identifier; sending the request with an identifier (201) to a text-to-speech converter (104); converting the text contained in the request with an identifier (201) into a voice file (202) by means of a text-to-speech converter (104); making a voice over IP call to the destination (2, 3, 103) indicated in the HTTP request (200); playing the voice file (202), when the destination (3, 103) answers the voice call, by means of the first subsystem (101); ending the voice call, generating a notification (205) about the result of the voice call, and transmitting the notification (205) to the source user (1, 100).
Abstract:
In a system comprising a voice recognition module, a session manager, and a voice generator module, a method for providing a service to a user comprises receiving an utterance via the voice recognition module; converting the utterance into one or more structures using lexicon tied to an ontology; identifying concepts in the utterance using the structures; provided the utterance includes sufficient information, selecting a service based on the concepts; generating a text message based on the selected service; and converting the text message to a voice message using the voice generator.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system, method and software application for enabling a customer service agent, working in a call center, to efficiently communicate with users of a communication device. In particular it allows multiple calls to be handled in parallel. When a user enters speech input into his communication device (130), the speech is converted to text (140), and the text is displayed to the customer service agent on the agent's computer screen (160). Alternately, the user's speech input is provided to the customer service agent in the form of an audio file. The agent types a response, and the agent's response is provided to the user on the user's communication device. The agent's response may be converted to speech and played to the user (190), and/or the agent's response may be displayed as text on the display screen of the user's communication device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing network-based access to personalized user content. The apparatus may include a memory that is publicly-accessible via a communications network. The memory may store configuration information that is customized by a user and that defines personalized content of the user. The apparatus may further include an interface module in communication with the memory. The interface module may also be publicly-accessible via the communications network and may include a processor configured to access the configuration information to determine the personalized content to be provided to a remote user device associated with the user. The processor may further be configured to establish a communications connection with the remote user device via the communications network, access the personalized content, and provide, in an audio form, at least a portion of the personalized content to the remote user device via the communications network.
Abstract:
People having impaired speech cannot use standard telephones (102) to communicate in the normal way as they can listen to the call but not use their voice to answer. A system (100) is disclosed, which uses prestored text phrases which will be presented to the call using a text-to-speech converter (110). The user calls a service (106) in a telecommunication network and after an authentication he dials codes on the keypad on the telephone to provide prestored messages. The user also can use a translating engine to provide his text phrases in different languages.
