Abstract:
The present inventor is directed to a telecommunications system and access panel for providing direct metallic access to a telecommunications carrier's signal pairs by a competitor while providing isolation between the telecommunications POTS service and the competitor's digital line service. The isolation is provided by placing DC blocking capacitors in the access panel. In another embodiment, direct metallic access is achieved by placing the access panel as an intermediate distribution frame member.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a distribution device (2) in a data signal processing installation (1), and a data signal processing installation (1). Said distribution device comprises a distribution block (3) which has a receiving device containing functional elements to which data signal lines (4, 5, 6) can be connected, said functional elements having a circuit to distribute signals transmitted by the data signal lines (4, 5, 6). The distribution device also comprises a data signal editing unit with active and/or passive electronic components, in which the data signals transmitted from the data signal lines (3, 4, 5) are edited in a pre-determined manner. The data signal editing unit is integrated into the components of the distribution block (3).
Abstract:
A loop management device (26) for testing a communication path (40) for digital subscriber line (DSL) signals includes a loop access device that is coupled in the communication path between a DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM)(28) and a DSL modem (39) located at a customer premises. The loop management device (26) also includes a controller (30) coupled to the loop access device. The controller communicates with a remote test interface (36) that is coupled in the communication path (40) between the loop management device (26) and the DSL modem (39). The controller communicates with the remote test interface (36) using voice-band signals transmitted over the communication path (40) and tests the communication path (40) in collaboration with the remote test interface (36).
Abstract:
A cover (32) is provided for a remote terminal base, the cover (32) defines an interior cavity (44) having a mount for a 400-series card electronic module (40) therein. The cover (32) may replace a standard flat cover on a remote terminal base to facilitate the implementation of a 400-series card module. The interior cavity (44) of the cover (32) is deep enough to accommodate the card module and has a hinged intermediate door (38) to which the card module is mounted. When the door (38) is open, card guides (54) on the door receive the card module. The door is closable to sealably encase the card module within the cover.
Abstract:
A powered patch panel (PPP) is disclosed that inserts power in mid-span regions of a network and provides fault-tolerance at the power supply level and the power-plane level. Information such as physical location, port status and policy enforcement information may be locally stored and utilized by a processor of the PPP to achieve network control and monitoring. A network management system and/or element management system may be provided to interface with processors of PPPs to achieve network monitoring, control and policy enforcement goals.
Abstract:
The distribution connecting module for telecommunications and data systems technology, comprises a housing inside of which input and output contacts for connecting lines and wires are placed, said contacts being accessible from the exterior. The housing is provided with a cavity inside of which at least one printed circuit board is placed. The input and output contacts are situated on the opposing faces of the housing. The input contacts are provided in the form of at least one connector strip with insulation displacement contacts. The input and output contacts can be detachably connected to the printed circuit board. The connector strip supporting the input contacts is detachably connected to the housing via a front part. The insulation displacement contacts are connected to the printed circuit board via fork contacts. The connection between the front part and the housing is such that when the connection is released, the connector strip, which is connected to the front part, is, together with the fork contacts, moved away from the printed circuit board.
Abstract:
An assembled telecommunication exchange cabinet, comprising a hollow body and a base, wherein the body comprises a set of front doors, left and right side doors, a top cover and a heat sink device.
