[Also in Division G2] In a photo-electric exposure meter in which the field of view of a photo-cell is varied by adjusting a diaphragm, the light flux on the cell is maintained constant for a constant scene luminance. The diaphragm B, Fig. 3, is adjusted by means of a ring 7 which simultaneously rotates a tube having a control slot 7a. A pin 12 engaging the control slot moves the photo-cell E axially of the tube to maintain the desired flux relationship. In a modification the pin, 15, Fig. 4, (not shown) rotates the cell E against a spring 17 so that the normal to the cell surface is not parallel with the optical system axis. In both embodiments a diffusing screen M is provided.

Abstract: 736,676. Photometers; photographic-exposure meters. ENDICOTT, F. W. June 10, 1952 [March 12, 1951], No. 5863/51. Classes 97 (1) and 98 (1). A photometer, which may be adapted for measuring photographic exposures, comprises a casing containing a telescope having on its optical axis in proximity to the focus of the objective a small mirror peripherally surrounded by space and illuminated by a lamp in a side conduit of the casing so as to be superimposed on the image of the object formed by the objective, a regulator being provided to vary the current through the lamp until the mirror appears to be as bright as the parts of the image surrounding it, and an electric indicator such as a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the lamp. As shown the mirror 34 is formed on the end of a metal rod 33 arranged along the axis of the objective 25 and supported by a transparent disc so that the periphery of the mirror is entirely surrounded by space and is at or near the focus of the objective. Light from the lamp 30 falls on the mirror 34 which is viewed, together with the image of the object formed by the lens 25, in an eyepiece 24. The whole may be mounted in a casing containing batteries, a variable resistance in circuit with the lamp and a voltmeter. The casing may carry the usual exposure calculator. Filters may be used in the apparatus.

Abstract: Disclosed are an infrared sensor assembly and a refrigerator having the infrared sensor, in which a location where a heat source is generated is precisely detected by narrowing a receiving angle of an infrared sensor. To this end, the infrared sensor assembly comprises: an infrared sensor fixed to a supporting frame for receiving infrared rays generated at a heat source; a case having the infrared sensor mounted therein and an infrared filter mounted at an upper surface thereof, the infrared filter transmits only the infrared rays; and a receiving range limiting means prolonged from an outer circumference surface of the case with a predetermined height for limiting a range of the infrared rays received into the infrared sensor so as to precisely detect a location of the heat source.
