Abstract:
A cursor controlling system is provided to control the motion of a cursor so that the cursor on a screen can be moved together with a physical object having inertia based on the input information on a touch pad. Based on the contact information, a state determining unit(320) grasps whether the operated state of a cursor is a contact state that a finger of a user comes in contact with a touch pad, or an inertial state that the finger does not come in contact with a touch pad. If the operated state is the contact state, a displacement calculating unit(330) determines the displacement of the cursor in proportion to the movement of the user's finger. If the operated state is the inertial state, the displacement calculating unit calculates the next displacement of the cursor based on the displacement of the cursor when the user's finger is separated from the touch pad.
Abstract:
A device and a method for tracking an object in a bit stream are provided to track an optimum object at high speed by using bit stream information and partially restored pixel information from H.264/AVC or MPEG-4 SVC moving picture contents. A characteristic point definition unit(110) receives moving picture contents encoded in H.264/AVC or MPEG-4 SVC baseline and stores at least one characteristic point initial position information corresponding to an initial point of an object. A bit stream analyzing unit(120) extracts motion vector information and residual signal information of each frame by receiving moving picture contents. An object extracting unit(130) generates optimum position information of an object at each frame by using forward motion vector information and pixel information partially restored with regard to a block. A metadata generating unit(150) generates optimum position information calculated by an optimum position calculating unit(133) and object related addition information defined by an object definition unit in MPEG-7 metadata or XML metadata forms.

An integrated file format structure, and a system and a method for managing multi-video data based on the same are provided to acquire, process, manage, and consume the multi-video data efficiently. An integrated file formation structure is composed of one or more video data and related metadata. The integrated file formation comprises an 'ftype' box for recording information about types of files, a 'moov' box for recording information about the video data and the meta data having time information, an 'mdat' box for storing the video data and the meta data, and a meta box for recording meta data of a file level for generation information of the entire integrated file. In the 'mdat' box, the video data and related metadata are stored in an external device as individual files, respectively.
Abstract:
A method for measuring an SCR(Skin Conductance Response) robust against a contact area change is provided to apply the SCR to wearable computing application and ubiquitous computing application. A method for measuring an SCR includes the steps of: measuring a conductive current and a capacitive current from a first electrode and a second electrode at the same time; and estimating a conductive current per a unit contact area by removing a contact area parameter from the conductive current and the capacitive current. The SCR is measured by setting a contact area of the second electrode to be larger than the contact area of the first electrode or to be relatively uniform in comparison with the first electrode. The first electrode is a metal plate which is in contact with an end of a finger of a subject. The second electrode is inserted into the finger.

Abstract:
A device and a method for measuring similarity based on feature of music, and a music recommendation system and method using the same are provided to calculate the similarity in an Internet or digital broadcasting environment based on the feature of the preferred music of a user and recommend the music effectively to the user based on the similarity. A music feature extractor(131) extracts feature information, which is at least one of rhythm or tone feature information, reflecting characteristics of music. A music feature information database(132) stores the extracted feature information in a feature vector row. A similarity calculator(133) calculates similarity between music by comparing a music list(16) extracted based on genre/singer information of the current queried music(14) of a user with the feature information of the current queried music or accumulative feature information of the past queried music. An updater updates the feature information of the current queried music to the accumulative feature information of the past queried music. A music recommender generates and provides a recommendation list in high similarity order depending on a similarity calculation result.
Abstract:
A method for reducing shadow on a ground in a sport scene is provided to detect a shadow area in real time and perform shadow reduction with respect to the extracted shadow area, thereby providing a user with more improved viewing environment. It is determined whether a ground is present or not by using an RGB(Red, Green and Blue) value within each image frame of a sport scene(S100). An image frame where the ground is present is divided into n x n blocks to construct a ground block map(S200). By checking temporal block difference of the constructed ground block map, a shot boundary is detected(S300). In the detected short boundary, a long shot or non-long short is determined(S400). If the long shot, it is determined whether a shadow area is present within the image frame(S500). If so, a shadow area is extracted by using a YU value within the image frame(S600). The extracted shadow area is divided into first and second shadow areas according to intensity of a shadow component(S700). After that, a shadow component is reduced by controlling luminance according to strength of the divided first and second shadow areas(S800).
Abstract:
A routing method in a wireless ad-hoc network is provided to smoothly offer modern multimedia services by considering a non-directional radio channel and multi-hop characteristics more exactly in finding out a path which can support a bandwidth required between a source node and a destination node in a wireless ad-hoc network using an IEEE 802.11 wireless interface. A source node broadcasts an RREQ(Routing Request) message to neighbor nodes in order to find out a path having a sufficient bandwidth to a destination node(S100). Receiving the RREQ message, each neighbor node records routing information, contained in the RREQ message, in its own routing table, and calculates an available bandwidth, the minimum bandwidth, and a bandwidth required for new traffic(S200). Based on the calculated bandwidths, each neighbor node judges whether it satisfies a preset sufficient bandwidth condition(S300). In case an arbitrary neighbor node satisfies the preset sufficient bandwidth condition, the arbitrary neighbor node broadcasts the RREQ message to the next neighbor nodes(S400). Afterwards, if the RREQ message is transmitted up to the destination node(S600), the destination node transmits an RREP(Routing Response) message to the source node in unicast(S700). As the source node receives the RREP message, routing is completed(S800).
Abstract:
A system and a method for managing the shared tasks between group members through mobile terminals are provided to eliminate the inconvenience of announcing a shared task list to each member one by one by previously storing a specific group's shared task list in a server and automatically transmitting associated task information to a specific mobile terminal at a proper moment according to a pre-appointed protocol. A system for managing the shared tasks between group members through mobile terminals consists of a plurality of mobile terminals(100a-100n) and a shared task management server(200). Each of the mobile terminals measures its own present location information data through a GPS(Global Positioning System) and transmits the measured location information data periodically. The shared task management server receives the location information data from the mobile terminals, compares the received location information data with a specific group's shared task list having previously registered meta information data, and confirms whether an executable shared task exists. In case such an executable shared task exists, the shared task management server transmits the meta information data of the shared task to an associated mobile terminal.
Abstract:
A system and a method for automatically scheduling a personalized broadcast program are provided to allow a user to view his preferred broadcast program easily according to a provided broadcast program schedule, and save a user's trouble of searching his preferred broadcast program. A user terminal(100) infers a user preferred broadcast program genre/channel preference by using broadcast program viewing information viewed by time zones/days, automatically generates personal program schedule information based on the inference, and reproduces requested broadcast program contents among the generated personal broadcast program schedule information. A program server(200) provides the broadcast program contents requested by the user terminal.
