Abstract:
An affixing member is provided which can affix an electrical connector to a board, including a plastic cylindrical member inserted into a hole of the board, where the cylindrical member is situated in a lower recess (16) of the plastic housing (14) of the electrical connector. The outer diameter of the cylindrical member (4) is smaller than the inner diameter of the hole of the board so the cylindrical member (4) may be inserted into the board with little insertion force. The cylindrical member (4) has a hollow section (22) allowing section (8) of a push pin (2) to be inserted therein. The inner diameter of the lower portion of the section (22) is smaller than the outer diameter of the forward end of the section (8) of the pin (2) so when the section (8) of the pin (2) is inserted into the hollow section (22) of the cylindrical member (4), the cylindrical member (4) is enlarged and affixed to the board.
Abstract:
A shunt connector (10) provides for electrical connection of a pair of adjacent terminal pins (14) inserted into a housing (12). A spring contact (20) having a convex bowed body portion (26) extends into a cavity (18) in the housing where the pins are inserted. The terminal pins (14) are inserted into the housing along an axis which is substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of the spring contact (20). The spring contact (20) is resilient such that the body engages the terminal pins (14) and pressure engagement is maintained between the spring body and the pins which ensures that a proper electrical connection is made. The spring contact (20) comprises a conducting material such that the pins are shorted upon contacting the spring.
Abstract:
A connector apparatus (10) for a card-like data processing medium has an ejection mechanism for discharging the card-like data processing medium from the connector apparatus (10). The ejection mechanism comprises a slidable plate (28) that is movably mounted on a frame (14) of the connector apparatus (10) and has a pawl (42) that engages with a forward end face of the card-like data processing medium. The slidable plate (28) slides back and forth in a plane that is substantially parallel to a plane defined by the frame (14) in order to eject the card-like data processing medium. A pivotal lever (34) for transmitting movement of a push rod (36) into movement of the slidable plate (28) is rotatably mounted on the frame (14) in the same plane as the slidable plate (28), thereby reducing the profile of the connector apparatus (10). In an alternate embodiment, the pivotal lever (34) is replaced by a plurality of gears (100, 102, 104, 106) that transmit movement of the push rod (36) into movement of the slidable plate (28).
Abstract:
An electrical connector is provided in which latches are firmly secured to a housing (10). A fitting base (32), over which lower end of the latch (50) is fitted, and support base (34) for supporting a U-shaped section (58) extending from the lower end of the latch (50) are provided at the end of the step surface section (16) of the housing (10). The lower end sections of the latch (50) have such a shape as to surround the fitting base (32) on four sides and fittingly contact with the fitting base (32) on the four sides. In the fitted state of the latch, part of the lower end of the latch (50) is held in the recess defined by the fitting base (32), support base (34) and housing's step surface section (16). The latch (50) is firmly fitted over the fitting base (32) such that a hole (74) of the latch (50) is fitted over a projection (72) provided on the top surface of the fitting base (32).
Abstract:
An electrical connector (2) for interconnecting a plurality of printed circuit boards or the like. A circuit board (6) is disposed in a recess (22) in the connector housing such that the circuit board is electrically interconnected to another circuit board (4) on which the connector is mounted. A latch (28) provides a retentive force for maintaining the circuit board in the recess of the connector housing. Actuation of a lever (48) coupled with the latch provides an effective force to disengage the latch from the circuit board such that the circuit board can be removed from the connector housing. A projection (42) can be provided on a latch-forming member for securing the connector on a circuit board or thelike.
