Se describe un método para predecir un resultado de un tratamiento de modificación del color del pelo sobre una muestra de pelo, el método comprende. a. por cada región dada de una pluralidad de regiones distintas, medir, respectivamente, un espectro específico de la región de material respectivo de la muestra de pelo colocada, respectivamente, dentro de la región dad; y b. primer y segundo espectros posteriores al tratamiento, predichos, respectivamente, a partir de primer y segundo espectros iniciales prediciendo, respectivamente, una transformación del primer y segundo espectros iniciales después de someter la muestra de pelo al tratamiento de modificación de color del pelo, siendo el primer y segundo espectros iniciales distintos y (i) derivados de la pluralidad de espectros específicos de la región medidos y/o (ii) correspondientes al primer y segundo espectros específicos de la región medidos.

Abstract: Se describe un aparato y método para la coloración del pelo personalizada. En algunas modalidades el método comprende: a. efectuar una pluralidad de mediciones de difracción de luz sobre una muestra de pelo, de modo que por cada medición de difracción de luz, la muestra de pelo sea iluminada desde una dirección respectiva diferente; b. comparar los resultados de las mediciones de difracción de luz; c. de acuerdo con los resultados de la comparación, calcular un estado de daño inicial de pelo de la muestra comparando los resultados de las mediciones de difracción de luz; d. obtener un estado de color inicial del pelo de la muestra; y e. calcular una composición de coloración del pelo que se predijo transformará la muestra del pelo del estado de color inicial a un estado de color objetivo de modo que en respuesta a una determinación de grado mayor (menor) de daño inicial, una concentración de colorantes artificiales dentro de la composición de coloración calculada se reducirá (se incrementará).

Abstract: A method to change the color of hair. The method includes measuring an initial reflectance spectrum of a sample of the hair and analyzing a contribution of a plurality of natural hair factors to the initial reflectance spectrum. The method also includes calculating a hair treatment based on another reflectance spectrum. A system to measure a reflectance spectrum of a sample includes an integrating sphere having a sampling port and an inner surface and a window disposed near the sampling port. The window is configured for being placed in close contact with the sample. The system also includes a light source configured to project light onto the sample via the window and a light detector configured to analyze light reflected from the inner surface to produce the reflectance spectrum of the sample.

Abstract: A system for determining hair color treatment, including a processor. The processor is configured for: receiving as input an initial spectrum of a sample of hair, the initial spectrum having a wavelength range; calculating a new spectrum of the hair due to a hypothetical hair color treatment as a direct function of the initial spectrum; and outputting data to a device, the data being based upon the step of calculating. The system also includes a spectrum analyzer configured for producing the initial spectrum and a display device configured for displaying a color and hair color treatment instructions based on the data. An alternate embodiment of the invention includes a color mixing device configured for dispensing a hair color treatment based on the data.
