    Abstract: The invention provides a valve with a main flow passage (20) and a low flow passage (21) . The valve can be used for controlling flow of petrol, e.g. in a petrol pump of a petrol station. The main passage (20) is controlled via a servo operated valve member via a pilot valve member and the low flow passage (21) is controlled by an individual valve member. The valve housing (1) comprises a relatively large number of chambers and passages, and to increase the reliability of the valve and to reduce the manufacturing costs, all passages are worked from the chambers and into the body part leaving no unnecessary openings in the body part for subsequent sealing.

    Abstract: An improved method for detection of engine faults especially suited for use on ships. The method is in particular related to the detection of a fault in an internal combustion engine having within the housing a crankshaft connected to a piston. The method includes determination of a pressure difference between the housing and the area outside the housing. If comparison of the pressure difference with a fault indicating pressure difference limit shows that the pressure difference is greater than the fault indication pressure difference limit then the presence of the fault is indicated. According to the method is the pressure difference determined by comparing the pressure existing in the housing with the pressure of the area outside the housing, while attenuating pressure changes of the area outside the housing, so that pressure changes having a duration equal to or less than a defined fault characteristic period of time are suppressed.

    Abstract: An object comprising a conductive body part, a layer comprising a refractory metal (e.g. tantalum), and a layer comprising a precious metal (e.g. platinum or gold).     Abstract: The invention provides a valve with a bellow (1, 4) and a method of making such a valve with a bellow. The bellow comprises a sidewall (1) and a bottom part (4) formed from a single plate of a sheet material. The bellow thus forms a completely sealed cavity and thus facilitates operation of a closing member inside the valve via connecting means outside the valve through the bellow.     Abstract: The invention provides an assembly spring (1) and a valve incorporating such a spring. The spring is made from a wire which extends around a longitudinal axis to form windings (4, 5). The spring terminates in axially opposite end portions in first and second end windings. The énd windings each has an arcuate portion wherein the wire extends around the longitudinal axis.     Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus for delivering a controlled or restricted flow of liquid and limiting bubble fragmentation at the inlet. This is achieved in flow restrictor with a flow channel having over most of its length a substantially constant, minimum hydraulic diameter D = 4A/W wherein A is the minimum local cross-sectional area of the channel and W is the minimum local wetting perimeter of the channel, by smoothly widening the channel at its inlet such that: at distances z from the inlet face with 0 1 the channel has a hydraulic diameter D z ≥ k * D wherein k ≥ 1.3; at distances z from the inlet face with z 1 2 , the channel has a hydraulic diameter D z with k * D ≥ D z ≥ D; and at distances from the inlet face with z 2 z with D z ≤ 1.02D, except possibly for a similar widening of the channel at the outlet. It has been found that widening the flow channel at the inlet, such that its diameter increases smoothly and gradually, and preferably by a factor of at least 1.3 over a length of at least 3 channel diameters, significantly reduces the tendency towards bubble fragmentation in microcapillary flow restrictors, and also substantially increases the yield of devices which operate well.
