Abstract:
A semiconductor device is provided having a free layer and a pinned layer spaced apart from each other. A tunnel barrier layer is formed between the free layer and the pinned layer. The pinned layer may include a lower pinned layer, and an upper pinned layer spaced apart from the lower pinned layer. A spacer may be formed between the lower pinned layer and the upper pinned layer. A non-magnetic junction layer may be disposed adjacent to the spacer or between layers in the upper or lower pinned layer.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a large-area nanoscale pattern includes: forming multilayer main thin films isolated by passivation layers; patterning a first main thin film to form a first main pattern; forming a first spacer pattern with respect to the first main pattern; and forming a second main pattern by transferring the first spacer pattern onto a second main thin film. By using multilayer main thin films isolated by different passivation films, spacer lithography capable of reducing a pattern pitch can be repetitively performed, and the pattern pitch is repetitively reduced without shape distortion after formation of micrometer-scale patterns, thereby forming nanometer-scale fine patterns uniformly over a wide area.

Abstract:
A liquid crystal display according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention includes a first panel including a first lower substrate, a first lower electrode formed on the first lower substrate, a first upper substrate facing the first lower substrate, a first upper electrode formed on the first upper substrate, and a first cholesteric liquid crystal injected between the first lower electrode and the first upper electrode, wherein the first lower electrode includes carbon nanotubes. The liquid crystal display including the first lower electrode made of the carbon nanotubes without a light absorption layer provides a simple structure capable of realizing a black state.
Abstract:
Valuable metals such as cobalt, nickel, manganese, and lithium can be economically recovered from various lithium secondary battery-related wastes by the inventive method which comprises liquid-phase leaching a scrap powder containing Co, Ni, Mn, and Li, and purifying and solvent-extracting the resulting leaching solution to recover each of said Co, Ni, Mn, and Li, wherein the liquid-phase leaching is performed by a two-step counter-current leaching using an inorganic acid solution or a mixed solution of an inorganic acid and hydrogen peroxide.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an overvoltage repetition prevention circuit, a method thereof, and a power factor correction circuit including the same. The power factor correction circuit includes: an inductor receiving an input voltage and supplying an output voltage; a power switch connected to the inductor and controlling an inductor current to the inductor; and a power factor correction controller differently controlling a control structure generating a control voltage controlling a switching operation of the power switch during a predetermined overvoltage stabilization period generated in synchronization with a time that an output voltage is an overvoltage and the control structure generating the control voltage in a normal state in which the output voltage is not the overvoltage, wherein the control structure is determined according to a difference between the output voltage and a predetermined output target voltage during the overvoltage stabilization period.

This invention relates to a petroleum refining method for producing high value-added clean petroleum products and aromatics (Benzene/Toluene/Xylene) together, by which low pollution petroleum products including liquefied petroleum gas or low-sulfur gas oil and aromatics can be efficiently produced together from a fluid catalytic cracked oil fraction.
Abstract:
A waste heat recovery device for a marine vessel is disclosed. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the waste heat recovery device for a marine vessel includes: a heat exchanger, which recovers heat from the exhaust fumes discharged from the engine, to heat a first refrigerant under uniform pressure; a turbine which is driven by adiabatically expanding the first refrigerant heated under uniform pressure; a condenser which condenses the adiabatically expanded first refrigerant; and a heat exchanging pump which compresses the condensed first refrigerant so as to re-circulate the compressed first refrigerant to the heat exchanger.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for inhibiting angiogenesis using a peroxiredoxin II (Prx II) inhibitor, and a method for preparing angiogenesis-inhibiting medicines using Prx II inhibitor. According to the present invention, the inhibitor of Prx II gene expression or Prx II protein activity increases oxidative inactivation of VEGF receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) to reduce VEGF signaling, thereby screening a novel angiogenesis inhibitor. Therefore, the method of the present invention can be used for the prevention or treatment of various diseases, ailments, and conditions related to angiogenesis.
Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for displaying an image in a portable terminal. The apparatus includes a display unit for displaying an image; a display buffer that stores the image to be displayed; a zoom buffer that temporarily stores an enlarged thumbnail to provide a better image quality; a memory that stores an original image of the thumbnail as a compressed image file; an interface unit that upon receiving an image enlargement request while the thumbnail is being displayed on the display unit, enlarges and stores the thumbnail, stored in the display buffer, in the zoom buffer, and sends an image quality improvement request to a decoder that continuously improves the image quality of the enlarged thumbnail stored in the zoom buffer by a predetermined amount.
