Abstract:
Upon occurrence of memory overflow, a POP3 protocol process section interrupts email reception by POP3 and stores a page count number at the interruption in the data memory area as the interrupted page number. After that, POP3 protocol process section starts reception of the remainder of the interrupted email data connecting to POP3 server. Comparing the receiving page number and the interrupted page number, the POP3 protocol section identifies the data as the data corresponding to the pages received if the former number is smaller than the latter number. If the data corresponds to the pages received, the data is deleted from the reception buffer without any processing. On the other hand, if the data corresponds to non-received pages, then the data is received and printed out after decoding.
Abstract:
When an IFAX processing section transmits image information using e-mail, a timer monitoring section starts the count of a timer. After starting the count, a received mail determining section determines whether or not a timeout occurs. Also, the received mail determining section determined whether an error mail of a current job or a DSN of the current job is received. In the case of the timeout, when the notification content of the error mail or the DSN is an abnormal end, a transmission selecting section instructs a FAX control section to transmit an image information file of the current job to a telephone number. Thereafter, the transmission selecting section instructs an image information managing section to erase an image information file corresponding to a file name of the current job. This makes it possible to insure a real-time property as making use of advantages of e-mail.
Abstract:
The present invention selects a channel to be used in facsimile-transmitting image information included in e-mail subjected to relay request in accordance with channel selection information included in said e-mail.
Abstract:
In a facsimile system adapted to receive data via a LAN (Internet facsimile system), when the facsimile machine is unable to print or otherwise process the received data, and has no mass storage device, the received data is 5 rerouted to the other terminal connected to the LAN so that the received data may be readily retrieved at all times. Such a situation can occur as a result of a failure of the printer unit, running out of printing paper, experiencing an unchanged state of the image memory for more than a prescribed time period, experiencing a memory-full state of the image memory for more than a prescribed time period, and detecting the received data to be based on a format which the facsimile system is unable to handle. Therefore, the received data can be made readily available for the interested party, and the safety of the received data can be improved.
Abstract:
In a facsimile communication method for transmitting facsimile data to a reception terminal from a facsimile machine via a communication network, a transmission process in the facsimile machine includes the following steps: (a) a step of saving image data of an original to be transmitted as facsimile data in a storage; (b) a step of generating access information data for access to the image data, saved in the storage, from the reception terminal via the transmission network; (c) a step of sending the access information data to the reception terminal by an e-mail; and (d) a step of transmitting the image data in the storage to the reception terminal from the facsimile machine by a communication protocol of a point-to-point data transfer form upon reception of an access request for the image data from the reception terminal.
Abstract:
A POP access section accesses a POP3 server using a first user ID/password registered in a user ID registration table, fetches message information from a mailbox of the user ID, and stores it to RAM. A message information extracting section extracts necessary information from the message information, and stores it to be associated with the user ID. Thereafter, a reception list generating section reads message information of all user IDs from RAM, and generates a reception list. Sequentially, the reception list generating section outputs the generated reception list. A user, who has seen the reception list, instructs the POP access section to fetch an e-mail message from a panel control section. This improves communication concealment.
Abstract:
An image processing device has a color/monotone common image processing section to execute a series of image processing corresponding to a monotone image having an external output terminal to take out an intermediate processing data to an external and an external input terminal to take in an image data color processed from an external section into an intermediate section. The data provided into the intermediate section of the color/monotone common image processing section is selected from the image data from the input terminal and the intermediate processing data from the former section of the color/monotone common image processing section.
Abstract:
A training circuit for training a tap coefficient of an adaptive equalizer that performs error calculations in a training process and updating of the tap coefficient in a time area and thereby makes the tap coefficient converge stably in a short time.
Abstract:
A mail notification apparatus is provided that enables a user of a cellular phone to know of the arrival of an electronic mail, even when the user is away from his/her office. The mail notification apparatus stores an electronic mail address of a local mail account in association with a mail address of a cellular phone. When it is determined that the electronic mail has arrived at the electronic mail address, the mail notification apparatus notifies, by using electronic mail, the arrival of the electronic mail to the cellular phone through the Internet and a communication vender mail server.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a plurality of destination screens having a plurality of pages, in which a plurality of destination selection keys are displayed. The destination screens are displayed in layers, each screen having a tag to select a desired destination screen. When a specific tag is selected, a page of the corresponding destination screen with a registered destination selection key is displayed. When page scroll key are pressed, the registered destinations can be searched as each page of the destination screens is scrolled in the ascending/descending order. When no more pages can be scrolled in one destination screen, another destination screen is displayed, instead of terminating the operation. Therefore, it is not necessary to perform a separate operation to switch to another screen, when no more pages can be scrolled by pressing a page scroll key. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the operator's burden to find a desired destination, thereby improving the convenience of the operation.
