Abstract:
A power cable for high temperature environments includes individual single electrical conductors. The individual single electrical conductors each include a conductive core, mineral insulation, and a protective sheath. The mineral insulation surrounds the conductive core and is in direct contact with the conductive core. The protective sheath surrounds the mineral insulation and is in direct contact with the mineral insulation. A wellbore installation including an electric submersible pump (ESP) may be deployed in the wellbore with a power cable extending between the ESP and an electric power source. A system may include the ESP, an electric motor, and a power cable. The electric motor is connected to the ESP and the power cable is connected between the electric motor and an electric power source.

A lubricating fluid suitable for use as a shock absorber fluid is disclosed. The lubricating fluid comprises at least 40wt %, based upon the weight of the lubricating fluid, of a GTL base oil, has a viscosity index in the range of from 50 to 1000, and a pour point of below -30°C.
Abstract:
A seismic data acquisition system and method wherein multiple clusters (100, 200) of sources are employed that are time regulated with respect to each other ("concerted sources"). Only sources within the same cluster are time regulated with respect to each other while no time regulation is imposed between sources that do not belong to the same cluster. The concerted sources within each cluster are operated in slip-sweep mode. The slip time that is imposed between starting times of successively actuated concerted sources within a single cluster consists of a predetermined listening period of a fixed duration plus an additional variable delay time, which varies from shot to shot to introduce dither noise. The additional variable delay imposes a slip time dither. A common seismic receiver (10) is configured to measure seismic signals induced by the sources from multiple of said clusters.
Abstract:
An ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks that provides for high conversion of the heavy hydrocarbon with a low sediment yield. The process uses for its catalyst bed an impregnated shaped ebullated bed catalyst having a low macroporosity and a geometry such that its characteristic cross section perimeter-to-cross sectional area is within a specifically defined range.
Abstract:
An improved method of operating a conventional ebullated bed process for the hydroconversion of heavy hydrocarbon feedstocks so as to provide for low or reduced sediment content in the conversion product without the loss of hydrodesulfurization function.
Abstract:
In a system and method for acquisition of marine seismic data, an array of N acoustic sources is suspended in a body of water from a float. At least N near-field sensor assemblies are configured between the array of N acoustic sources and the float. These N near-field sensor assemblies are each configured to concurrently measure both a pressure and a vertical pressure gradient of the acoustic wave in the water at any selected time.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for preparing a paraffin product from a carbonaceous feedstock. The method comprises the steps of obtaining a gaseous mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen from a carbonaceous feedstock, performing a Fischer-Tropsch reaction and subjecting at least part of an off gas obtained from the Fischer-Tropsch reaction to fermentation.
Abstract:
An imager and method for imaging fluid of a subsurface formation is disclosed. The imager includes a housing having a sidewall defining a passage to receive a core sample of the subsurface formation therethrough. The housing is positioned in a downhole tool and has a fluid inlet to receive fluid from the subsurface formation into the passage. The imager also includes a permanent magnet positioned in the sidewall of the housing, a radio frequency coil positioned in the sidewall of the housing between the permanent magnet and the passage, a gradient field in the sidewall of the housing between the permanent magnet and the radio frequency coil, and a chemically-selective imager. The chemically-selective imager is operatively connected to the radio frequency coil to selectively pulse frequencies according to a pulse sequence whereby individual fluid measurements of the sample are generated.
