Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for creating a shared augmented reality (AR) session. The methods and systems perform operations comprising: receiving, by a client device, input that selects a shared augmented reality (AR) experience from a plurality of shared AR experiences; in response to receiving the input, determining one or more resources associated with the selected shared AR experience; determining, by the client device, that two or more users are located within a threshold proximity of the client device; and activating the selected shared AR experience in response to determining that the two or more users are located within the threshold proximity of the client device.

Abstract: Cutting a wafer having devices, such as glass optical waveguides, into die by cutting into both sides of the wafer to reduce or eliminate micro-cracks and defects in the die. The wafer can be cut by simultaneously cutting the wafer from both sides using separate lasers at a controlled depth. The wafer can also be sequentially cut by cutting into one side of the wafer, flipping the wafer, and then cutting into the other side of the wafer. A processor controls the power of each laser to select the depth of each cut, such that each cut may be 50 % into the wafer, or other depths such as 30 % for one cut and 70 % for the other cut. The wafer may be cut into the bottom surface of the wafer first, and then cut into the top surface of the wafer having the optical waveguides.

In an example, the eyewear uses the identified movements of the remote physical object as a virtual brush to create a three- dimensional (3D) virtual object on an eyewear display. The eyewear determines positional information of the remote physical object. The eyewear uses the positional information and responsively displays and edits the virtual object as a function of the relative 3D positioning of the remote physical object.

Abstract: Eyewear providing an interactive augmented reality experience to allow a user of an eyewear device to display a 3D overlay image on a viewed person. The user can select the overlay image from a list of images, such as costumes, stored in memory or generated by the user. The images can be sorted in memory based on common attributes. Registration points of the person are continuously aligned with registration points of the overlay as the person moves such that the user appears to be wearing the 3D costume during movement. By aligning the registration points, the costume adapts to different body types and heights. The coloring of the costume can change based on the environment, such as the lighting, or to contrast with colors viewed in a viewfinder.

Abstract: Visual-inertial tracking of an eyewear device using sensors. The eyewear device monitors the sensors of a visual inertial odometry system (VIOS) that provide input for determining a position of the device within its environment. The eyewear device determines the status of the VIOS based information from the sensors and adjusts the plurality of sensors (e.g., by turning on/off sensors, changing the sampling rate, of a combination thereof) based on the determined status. The eyewear device then determines the position of the eyewear device within the environment using the adjusted plurality of sensors.
