Abstract: The system consists of two parts A and B respectively for pretreating with a sawdust layer filter and for treating with soil layer filters. The A-part comprises a wastewater storage tank(2), an underwater pump(3) installed on the bottom of the tank(2) for pumping up wastewater via a pipe(4) to spray the water over a filter bed in a tank(5) having a drain pipe(6); the B-part comprises storage tanks(7a, 7b, 7c) for pretreated wastewater from the A-part, pumps(8a, 8b, 8c) for pumping the pretreated water via pipes(9a, 9b, 9c) to spray it over soil filter beds in filter tanks(10a, 10b, 10c) having respective drain pipes(11a, 11b, 11c). The system is useful for small scale livestock farms.
