    Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for detecting a header area is provided to restore a wobble clock based on a detected wobble signal and a wobble modulation signal, and to perform a locked phase for a BPSK(Binary Phase Shift Keying) signal by a PLL module, then to demodulate the wobble modulation signal according to the restored wobble clock to operate an auto-correlation R of the demodulated signal, thereby stably detecting the header area. CONSTITUTION: A PLL(Phase Locked Loop) module(61) inputs a detected wobble modulation signal recorded on a wobble modulation area, and outputs a clock signal. A demodulator(62) inputs the wobble modulation signal, and demodulates the wobble modulation signal according to the clock signal output from the PLL module. A correlator(63) operates an auto-correlation for the wobble modulation signal demodulated from the demodulator, and outputs a header indicator signal based on the operated auto-correlation. The wobble modulation area is formed between a wobble track and a header area, and is located on a boundary area between sectors. The wobble modulation signal is generated by BPSK for binary data having predetermined length, and is a PR(Pseudo Random) signal.
