A GUI(Graphic User Interface) capable of simultaneously or selectively changing instances by using a master and a method thereof are provided to change an upper master at the same time when a lower master is changed in the master having a hierarchical structure, and change the instances selectively by controlling a link between the master and the instance. A master area(110) defines the master, which is an object to be copied and used. A document editing area(120) makes a document by copying the master. The master area is formed in the hierarchical structure comprising lower and upper masters. The lower master forming the upper master is changed and all instances linked with the document editing area by the lower/upper master before the change are changed when the lower master is changed. A master structure preview area(130) displays the hierarchical structure between the upper and lower master in a tree structure. The master structure preview area forms a master change area for changing the selected master when the master is changed in the master structure preview area.

A portable device and a method for providing a menu icon are provided to change a view point of a background image in the direction of a directional button manipulated by a user. A portable device includes a button signal determining module(120), a focus position checking module(130), a background image managing module(140), and an icon managing module(150). The button signal determining module(120) determines if a button signal input from a user is a functional button signal or a directional button signal. The focus position checking module(130) checks the focus position on a predetermined menu icon. The background image managing module(140) changes a view point of a background screen image in the movement direction of the focus. The icon managing module(150) changes the size of a menu icon according to the focus position.

A multi air conditioning system for inputting various connections between valves of a mode converter and indoor units. The multi air conditioning system, which has a plurality of indoor units, a plurality of pipes for connecting an outdoor unit to the indoor units, and a plurality of valves installed in the pipes, includes first switches for inputting whether or not the indoor units are respectively connected to the pipes, and second switches for inputting addresses of the indoor units connected to the pipes.

The present invention relates to a washing machine and a method for controlling the same. The objective of the present invention is to perform a proper communications between a control part and balancing modules so that the balancing modules to be moved can be moved to exact target positions. To achieve the objective, the method for controlling a washing machine comprises the steps of: measuring a first period between the points of the position detection time of a plurality of balancing modules while a rotation tank is rotated in a state that the balancing modules are stopped; measuring a second period between the points of the position detection time of the balancing modules while the rotation tank is rotated in a state that one among the balancing modules is moved at a certain distance from the inside of a channel through a moving command for moving one among the balancing modules; and identifying a corresponding relationship between a module ID of one among the balancing modules and a communications ID of the moving command through the relative change of the second time to the first time. An air-conditioner is provided to improve the environmental information sensing efficiency performance by a sensor which has no concern with the circulation of a louver and to reduce the production cost by easily changing the rotary range of a sensor. The air-conditioner is composed of a main body casing(110), a louver rotatably formed at one side of the main body casing to control the discharge angle of the air discharged through the main body casing, and a sensor rotatably formed at the other side of the main body casing to sense the environmental information of indoor.
