There is provided a data transmitting/receiving method in an HARQ data communication system. To transmit a physical layer information stream having a plurality of sub-blocks, each sub-block having an error correction code, a QoS (Quality of Service), and a priority if the sub-blocks has a different QoS, the encoded physical layer information stream is divided into a plurality of slots. The slot data are sequentially transmitted to a receiver in predetermined time intervals. If an HARQ (Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) message for the initial slot data is received from the receiver, indicating that at least one of the sub-block in the initial slot data has a reception error and the other sub-blocks are good in reception, slot data with a sub-block having an error repeated within the number of the sub-blocks is retransmitted after transmission of initial slot data.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for initiating broadcast service through terminals in a mobile communication system are provided to control transmission of broadcast service data streams by base stations to minimize waste of wired/wireless resources. CONSTITUTION: The first message including information about broadcast service environments is received. Information about a base station capable of requesting initiation of broadcast service is extracted from the first message and stored. After idle handoff, it is confirmed if a new base station deserves to request initiation of broadcast service. In the case that the new base station is capable of requesting initiation of broadcast service, the second message that requests initiation of broadcast service is transmitted to the new base station.

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a reverse link in a mobile communication system is provided to assign variations of reverse data transfer rates differently according to characteristics of each mobile terminal, and to control access possibility according access possibilities allocated from a base station when a mobile terminal changes a data transfer rate. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal transmits a request message for connection open to a base station, and the base station acquires the mobile terminal(100). The base station sends a configuration message with a PV(Persistence Vector) value during configuration negotiation to the mobile terminal(102). If connection setup is completed(104), the base station transceives packet data with the mobile terminal. Each mobile terminal transmits an RRI(Reverse Rate Indicator) symbol to the base station to notify self reverse data transfer rate, and the base station monitors an RRI message(106), to set an RAB(Reverse Activity Bit) based on remaining capacity and a reverse link load(108). The base station broadcasts the set RAB bit to a cell through an F-MAC(Forward link Medium Access Control) channel(110). And after a predetermined time, the base station returns to the step 106.

PURPOSE: A radio link protocol frame receiving apparatus and method of a communication system is provided to accurately compute a serial number of a transmission-delayed frame in a communication system that an RLP(Radio Link Protocol) is assigned a serial number and transmitted. CONSTITUTION: An RLP controller obtains a frame serial number(l_SEQ) of a received RLP frame(801). The RLP controller compares the obtained L_SEQ value and a value stored in an L_V(R) register(803). The RLP controller transmits the data stored in the received RLP frame to an upper layer(805). The RLP controller sets the value of the L_V(R) register as a serial number for the next frame of the previously obtained L_SEQ value(807). If the L_SEQ value is greater than the value of the L_V(R) register, the RLP controller compares the L_SEQ value with an L_V(D) register value having the possible maximum frame serial number(811). The RLP controller stores the received RLP frame in a memory(813) and stores frame serial numbers of each frame missing from the L_V(R) register value to the very value before the obtained L_SEQ in a delay frame list rather than directly requesting re-transmission of them(813). PURPOSE: A backward data transfer rate determining method and apparatus of a mobile communication system are provided to perform an effective overload controlling and prevent a sharp transfer rate change of a terminal by performing a backward transfer rate controlling of the selective terminal by a base station. CONSTITUTION: An entire load(T) is measured by measuring a total power energy on a backward link from each terminal in the current sector to a base station(610). The loads occupied by each terminal for the entire load on the backward link, that is a contribution degree by each terminal is measured(620). A variable indicating the number of terminals is initialized as '0'(630). The pre-set values for each terminal and the measured load are compared in order to determine a reverse activity bit(RAB) of each terminal(640). If the load of the terminal is greater than the pre-set value, the RAB value of the corresponding terminal is determined as '1'(650). 'k' indicating the number of terminal which is set as '0' in the initialization process and determines the RAB value newly is increased by '1'(655). It is determined whether the 'k' indicating the number of terminals which has determined the RAB value newly is identical to 'N' indicating the number of all terminals(660). If 'k' is identical to 'N', that is, when the RAB value is determined for every terminal, the RAB value determined for each terminal is transmitted(670).

CONSTITUTION: A method for releasing supplementary channel in a code division multiple access mobile communication system includes following steps. When release request for the supplementary channel is generated during data communication through the supplementary channel, base station transmits the first message for state transition. A mobile station analyzes the first message, releases the supplementary channel and transits to predetermined state. After that the mobile station transmits the second message indicative of the release of the supplementary channel to the base station. The base station receives the second message and transits to the state.

PURPOSE: A device for transceiving data according to an RLP(Radio Link Protocol) in a mobile communication system is provided to supply a retransmission method on the basis of an identifier number for efficiently transmitting data when the data is transceived according to the RLP, so as to make the RLP raise a transmission efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A data transmitter transmits a transmission RLP frame with a sequence number, and transmits the RLP frame of the sequence number according to a retransmitting request to a requested identifier number. A data receiver decides a new sequence number of an RLP frame secondly received from the sequence number of the received RLP frame. If the new sequence number of the RLP frame and the sequence number of the RLP frame are not equal to each other, the data receiver requests to retransmit a corresponding sequence number and an identifier number to the data transmitter.

CONSTITUTION: A MuxPDU is generated by receiving a data block to transmit to a physical channel. Padding bits for a byte-arrangement is added to the MuxPDU. An LTU(Logical Transmission Unit) is generated by inserting a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Code) to the byte-arranged MuxPDUs. A physical channel frame is generated by inserting the LTUs in an information bit stream.

CONSTITUTION: A multiplexer controller(140) decides sizes and the number of radio link protocol(RLP) frames according to transmission rates, and generates the RLP frames as the decided sizes and the number, according to priorities. Many services output the RLP frames. Multiplexing frames including at least one RLP frame are generated as logic transmission unit(LTU) frames. Physical layer processors(150,250) transmit at least one LTU frame and physical frames including size information of the transmission rates and information bits. A demultiplexer(240) receives frames through physical channels allocated to the physical layer processors. Many RLP controllers process data for each inherent service.
