PURPOSE: A receiving device and method for hierarchical modulation is provided to decode higher layer information based on lower layer decoding information, thereby reducing interference between layers. CONSTITUTION: A phase compensation part(210) transfers a phase compensated signal to a basic layer decoding part(230) by compensating the phase of a received signal. The basic layer decoding part decodes an information bit of the basic layer among several layers. The basic layer decoding part calculates a bit metric including code bit information of the basic layer based on the phase compensated signal. An enhancement layer decoding part(250) successively decodes an information bit of the enhancement layer which is a higher layer of the basic layer based on a decoding result of a lower layer.

PURPOSE: A layer transmitting device and a receiving device and receiving method are provided to perform decode process for each layer after estimating symbol metrics of all layers from a received signal, thereby reducing interferences between the layers. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of sign parts(110) respectively corresponds to a plurality of layers. The sign part generates a code bit by encoding an information bit corresponding to a layer. A plurality of bit interleaving parts(130) respectively corresponds to the code bit. An interleaved bit is created by bit-interleaving the corresponding code bit. A modulation part(150) classifies a plurality of layers into a plurality of layer groups. The modulation part creates a modulation symbol for each layer group by modulating a plurality of interleaved bits corresponding to each layer group. A gain control part(171,172) controls a gain of the modulation symbol by a layer group. A combine part(190) creates a transmission symbol by combining the modulation symbol.

CONSTITUTION: The base station transmits the control information through the MBMS dedicated control channel with terminals(301). The base station transmits data through the transmission channel(302). In the base station, error existence and nonexistence is responded from one or more terminal(303). The base station transmits the wireless resource information of retransmission data with terminals by using the down link control signal(304). A down link reception indication method in a packet based mobile communications system which effectively controls the uplink is provided to maintain the synchronization of uplink effectively in case that the terminal does not maintain the synchronization of uplink. A base station assigns the arbitrary contact preamble index. A down link reception indication message including the allocated arbitrary contact preamble index is generated(205). The generated down link reception indication message is transmitted to the terminal(206). If the preamble signal designated with the arbitrary contact preamble index is received as a response, response information about random access is generated.

A method for transmitting and receiving broadcast and multicast service data in a packet based mobile communication system is provided to enhance error correction efficiency by applying an HARQ(Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) scheme while transmitting MBMS data to plural terminals. MBMS data is transmitted to plural terminals in multiple cells. A service group ID for the MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service) and shared feedback control information for respective cells are transmitted to the terminals through a control channel(301). The shared feedback control information for respective cells is commonly used for the terminals in the same cell. The MBMS data packet is transmitted to the terminal(302). When a response is received through the shared feedback channel from one of the terminals, wireless resource information of the data to be retransmitted through a downlink control channel is transmitted to the terminals(304). A method for transmitting and receiving packet data in a packet-based wireless communication system is provided to minimize an amount of scheduling information to be transmitted through the wireless resources. A base station broadcasts the system information including scheduling policy, persistence allocation or dynamic allocation through a broadcasting channel(201). The base station designates the corresponding group of the terminal, allocates and notifies the group identifier together with the inherent terminal identifier to the terminal(203) at the call setting procedure. At this time, the base station designates the scheduling property relating to the corresponding terminal through an RRC(Radio Resource Control) connection set procedure. The RRC connection procedure between the base station and the terminal is performed and thereafter the base station allocates the radio resources block for transmitting the down-link packet data and sets the radio RB(Resources Block) identifier(204). A channel state information transmission method in a user terminal of a wideband mobile communication system and a wireless resource allocation method in a base station thereof are provided to enable the base station to determine priority according to a lot of channel state information sent from each user terminal and to allocate wireless resources to each user terminal, thereby easily reducing data size of the channel state information as decreasing complexity of priority determination. A user terminal(32) measures a channel state of downlink. A base station(31) converts the measured channel state value of the downlink into a channel state information report type for each subcarrier group(302). The user terminal generates channel state information according to the channel state value converted into the channel state information report type(304).
