The present invention relates to an image encoding and decoding technology and, more specifically, to an image encoding and decoding technology using unidirectional prediction. According to the present invention, provided is an image encoding method comprising the steps of determining a prediction mode for a macroblock; dividing the macroblock into a plurality of sub-blocks; and encoding the respective sub-blocks according to the prediction mode.

A method for encoding an image according to the present invention includes the steps of: determining availability of a current block with respect to a neighboring block; configuring a merge candidate list of the current block based on the availability determining result; and compensating for a movement of the current block based on the merge candidate list, wherein the availability determining step includes the steps of: inducing block availability information about the neighboring block; and inducing availability for the movement information about the neighboring block by using the induced block availability information, and in the availability determining step about the neighboring block, when a plurality of neighboring blocks exists, the availability for the neighboring blocks can be determined according to a predetermined sequence limit. The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for inducing motion information by using a depth information value. The present invention includes a method of allowing several blocks to share and use a specific depth information value to decrease a memory bandwidth due to approach of the depth information value when motion information is induced by using the depth information value. Thus, the present invention can reduce the memory bandwidth of coding and decoding in a video coding process.

In a transmitting method for providing a 3D service through a connection with a reference image transmitted in real time and additional image and content transmitted separately from the reference image, the transmitting method for providing the 3D service comprises: a real time reference image stream generating step of generating a real time reference image stream on the basis of a reference image and transmitting the generated image stream to a recipient in real time; and an additional image and content transmitting step of transmitting, to the recipient and separately from the reference image stream, additional images and content for providing a 3D service through a connection with the reference image. PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for coding and decoding images using a skip coding are provided to removing an image noise, a blocking phenomenon, a quantization error, and aliasing by filtering a restored coding target or previously restored image. CONSTITUTION: A filtering unit(110) filters a restoration signal which is restored before a coding target signal. A predictive signal generator(120) generates a predictive signal of the coding target signal through the filtered restoration signal.
