Abstract: PURPOSE: A red fluorescent body of strontium titanic acid(SrTiO3) used for low-voltage condition is provided which has an excellent color purity, stability even under the high vacuum pressure, and in particular high luminescence so as to be suitably used in a field emission displays(FEDs), by comprising praseodymium chloride as an activator and aluminium hydroxide or gallium oxide as a co-activator in a red fluorescent body having a strontium titanic acid as a parent body. CONSTITUTION: A red fluorescent body of strontium titanic acid is produced by: adding praseodymium chloride as an activator and aluminium hydroxide(Al(OH)3) or gallium oxide(Ga2O3) as a co-activator to strontium titanic acid, which comprises strontium carbonate and titanium dioxide as a fluorescent material; mixing and drying them well; and sintering the resulted mixture at 1000-1400 deg.C and grinding it. Thus produced fluorescent body having high luminescence is suitably used for a field emission displays operated by excitation with low voltage electric rays.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A red color phosphor prepared by adding aluminum hydroxide and praseodymium to lanthanum titanate is provided which has a high luminance and excellent color purity at a low velocity electron tube and stable physical properties under high vacuum. CONSTITUTION: A lanthanum titanate red color fluorescent body of the formula;La2TixOy:aPr,bAl is prepared by mixing as a matrix lanthanum titanate with praseodymium(Pr) and aluminum hydroxide(Al) in a molar ration of Pr/Al of 0.001 : 0.02-0.03 : 0.23, drying and calcining at 1,100-1,500°C. In formula, x is greater than or equal 2 less than or equal 3, y is greater than or equal 7 less than or equal 9,a is greater than or equal 0.0005 less than or equal 0.0004, b is greater than 0 less than 0.3. The phosphor has a high luminance suitable to a field emission display(FED) under excitation with low velocity electron beam having an acceleration voltage as low as 1KV or less.
