Abstract:
An electronic device provides to a display data to present a user interface with a plurality of user interface objects that include a first user interface object and other user interface objects. A current focus is on the first user interface object. In response to determining that inactivity criteria are satisfied, e.g. no user input detected for a predetermined period of time, providing to the display data to visually distinguish the first user interface object from the other user interface objects. In response to detecting interaction by a user with the electronic device, providing to the display data to cease visually distinguishing the first user interface object from the other user interface objects.
Abstract:
A method includes: displaying a first view of a first application; detecting a first portion of a first input; if the first portion of the first input meets application-switching criteria, concurrently displaying portions of the first application view and a second application view; while concurrently displaying the portions of the application views, detecting a second portion of the first input; if the second portion of the first input meets first-view display criteria (liftoff of contact detected in a first region), ceasing to display the portion of the second application view and displaying the first application view; and if the second portion of the first input meets multi-view display criteria (liftoff of contact detected in a second region), maintaining concurrent display of a portion of the first application view and a portion of the second application view on the display after detecting the liftoff of the contact.
Abstract:
The present disclosure includes generally relates to scrolling and selecting items. An electronic device having a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface with a list of items. The items can be scrolled and selected using different techniques. Some embodiments include a technique for entering an edit mode to select and scroll items on the user interface. Some embodiments include a technique for scrolling to select items on the user interface. Some embodiments include a technique for displaying a scroll progress indicator for scrolling items on the user interface.

Abstract:
The present disclosure integrates different gestures such that the same contact(s) may be used to provide the required inputs to accomplish multiple operations, e.g., by integrating a long press requirement and/or a movement requirement into the criteria for some of these operations. In addition, movement by a different number of contacts is optionally used as an alternative way to a long press input followed by movement of the contact(s) when moving an object and/or displaying selectable options. Furthermore, placement of an object that is being moved is configured such that the object or copy thereof is less likely to interfere with the user's viewing of the underlying user interface and/or content.
Abstract:
An electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface displays a user interface of an application. The device detects a first portion of an input including a contact on the touch-sensitive surface, and then detects a second portion of the input including movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface. The device displays, during the movement, application views including an application view that corresponds to the user interface of the application and another application view that corresponds to a different user interface of a different application. The device then detects a third portion of the input, including a liftoff of the contact from the touch-sensitive surface. In response, the device, upon determining that application-switcher-display criteria are met, displays an application-switcher user interface, and upon determining that home-display criteria are met, the device displays a home screen user interface that includes application launch icons.
