    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to attain the certainty of printing and the protection of data, by providing an opaque or highly reflective part for detecting paper at least to a part on the surface of a film substrate having high transmissivity to light. CONSTITUTION:OHP paper is formed by providing a light detection layer 2 on a film substrate comprising a polyester film having high transmissivity so as to correspond to the right or left end of the OHP paper on the surface opposite to a printing surface. This light direction layer 2 is formed by fixing an opaque reflective layer 3 comprising white paper 3 to the upper surface of the film substrate 1 by a sticking layer 4 comprising an acrylic sticking agent in a freely releasable manner. By irradiating the light detection layer 2 and detecting the transmission and reflection thereof, it is confirmed whether printing paper is set in a predetermined manner and the certainty of printing, the protection of data and the protection of machinery can be achieved. The light detection layer 2 is removed if necessary after a manuscript is formed.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To uniformly wind a ribbon, by a method wherein a carriage and a ribbon cassette can be moved only in parallel with a guide shaft, and driving of the cassette for taking up a ribbon is conducted and stopped in conjunction with an up-down motion of a printing head. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 4 is supported by the guide shaft 3 and a guide part 5, and a head holder 7 provided with the printing head 6 is so supported that it can be oscillated in the direction of an arrow A with respect to the carriage 4. Up-down oscillation of the holder 7 is effected by driving an oscillating plate 8 in the direction of an arrow B. A transmitting shaft 13 for transmitting a rotating force to a take-up reel 10 for the ribbon cassette 9 is supported on the carriage 4, and an oscillating member 16 is supported by the shaft 13. In a head-down condition, the oscillating member 16 is energized in the direction of an arrow C to press a rotatable body 18 against a rectilinear rail, thereby rotating a rotatable body 15. When the head 6 is turned up, a trigger lever 20 is moved in the direction of an arrow D to set the body 18 into a free condition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform positive printing by a small amount of picture signal energy even through high melting point ribbon in which sticking phenomenon does not occur is used, by providing a means preheating the heat transfer ribbon, which is supplied to a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:When a printing signal is inputted, a carriage 6 compresses the thermal head 1 and compressing electrode rollers 9 and 10 to the heat transfer ink ribbon 5a and moves it along recording paper 7. The compressing electrode rollers 9 and 10 are contacted with a conductive layer 5-1, and flow the current in a conductive layer 5-3. In this way, the heat transfer ink ribbon 5 is heated until the desired temperature is obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily conduct such operations as fitting of a paper, discharge of the paper and correction of the position of the same, by providing an operating knob whereby a paper press roller and a feed roller are brought into contact with and separated from each other and the feed of the paper is controlled. CONSTITUTION:The paper press roller 9 and a platen 1 are separated from each other, the leading end of the paper 2 is inserted to a position where a pinch roller 3 and the platen 1 make contact with each other, then the operating knob 15 is depressed in the direction of an arrow E to turn On a microswitch 17, thereby driving the platen 1 to rotate to feed the paper 2 in the direction of an arrow B, the leading end of the paper 2 is detected by a detecting end 18, and the paper 2 is fed to a starting position for printing. Then, the knob 15 is tilted in the direction of an arrow F to press the paper 2 against the platen 1 by the roller 9, and printing is started. When correcting the position of the paper 2, the knob 15 is tilted, this movement is transmitted to a releasing lever 14 through an intermediate lever 11, a paper guide 5 is rotated in the direction of an arrow G, the roller 3 and the platen 1 are separated from each other to bring the paper 2 in a free condition, and the position of the paper is corrected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an ink ribbon which makes it impossible to read the printed contents left as traces on the ribbon, by a method wherein the color of a film-shaped base of an ink ribbon is the same family of color as the color of a solid ink coated on the base. CONSTITUTION:The base 201x of the ink ribbon is made of an opaque polyester film pigmented to a color (e.g., black) which is in the same family of color as the color of a hot-melting ink 201i. When viewed from the direction C on the back side of the used ribbon 201, the traces 201HP of the printed pattern can not be seen, since the base 201x is opaque. When viewed from the direction D on the inked side of the ribbon, the traces 201HP can be seen. However, since the base 201x is seen through the traces 201HP and the colors (black) of the ink 201i and the base 201x are in the same famility of color, the entire surface is seen to be black-colored and the printed contents can be easily read.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent sticking of a transfer ink ribbon to printing paper and to conduct thereby thermal transfer printing efficiently by conducting heated transfer to the printing paper being at a stand-still by a thermal head while sliding the transfer ink ribbon on the paper. CONSTITUTION:Thermal transfer printing is conducted while an ordinary printing paper sheet 11 and the transfer ink ribbon 12 being fed through inbetween a platen 1' driven by a pulse motor 4 through the intermediary of a pulley 5, a belt 3 and another pulley 2 and the thermal head 7 supported by springs 8a and 8b (the transfer ink ribbon 12 is made to run by a take-up roll 12b driven by a pulse motor 15 through the intermeiary of a pawl wheel 16). At the time of printing, the printing paper sheet 11 is made to be at a standstill and the first line composing characters is printed while the transfer ink ribbon 12 being moved corresponding to a pulse t01. Next, the ribbon 12 is stopped and the printing paper sheet 11 is moved corresponding to a pulse T1', and thereafter the second line composing characters is printed in the same way. The device is constituted so that the length of movement by the pulse t01 and the like is smaller than the length of movement by the pulse T1' and the like.
