Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing 1,2-dodeca-2,10-diene diacid and 1,12-dodecanoic acid whereby cyclooctene and acrylic acid are reacted with a ruthenium catalyst by way of a metathesis reaction at high substrate concentrations until the reaction takes place in substance, the resulting unsaturated dicarboxylic acid being precipitated and being hydrated in a second reaction step.

Abstract: Continuous and/or discontinuous process for the preparation of the cyclododecatriene comprises conversion of butadiene to a raw cyclododecatriene, in the presence of solvent, at least a catalyst system containing nickel and/or titanium and at least an organometal compound, and adding a compound containing at least an element of V group to the catalyst system, where: the solvent before the addition of the catalyst component contains 10-1000 pm of a polar component (I). Continuous and/or discontinuous process for the preparation of the cyclododecatriene comprises conversion of butadiene to a raw cyclododecatriene, in the presence of solvent, at least a catalyst system containing nickel and/or titanium and at least an organometal compound, and adding a compound containing at least an element of V group to the catalyst system, where: the solvent before the addition of the catalyst component contains 10-1000 pm of a polar component (I) of formula (HO-R) and the reaction temperature for the catalyst containing nickel is up to 140[deg]C and for catalyst containing titanium is maximum of 80[deg]C. R : 1-18C-(cyclo)alkyl, 1-18C-aryl, 1-18C-aralkyl or H. An independent claim is included for a material mixture, obtained by the above method, comprising cyclododecatriene, where the ratio of the cyclododecatriene to higher oligomer is at least 10:1, preferably greater than 20:1.
