Abstract: A method and a serving NodeB (28) for adjusting transmit power of a User Equipment (UE) (31 ) having multiple transmitter chains to reduce relative phase discontinuity (RPD) between a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) and a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH). The NodeB receives from the UE, an RP characteristic (32) of the UE and, based on the RP characteristic, selects an SRS or PUSCH transmit power level (39) for the UE so as to reduce the RPD. The NodeB instructs the UE to set the SRS or PUSCH transmit power level to the level selected by the NodeB.

Abstract: In a wireless network, plural downlink signals from plural base stations (210-1, 210-2, 210-3) are transmitted to a terminal (240). The plural downlink signals all carry the same information to the terminal (240). The terminal (240) provides feedback on the downlink channels. The feedback provides information on the taps of the channels. The amount of information fed back is constrained. Based on the feed-back, transmission parameters of the downlink signals are adjusted. The process of transmitting, providing feedback, and adjusting the parameters continue so that the energy of the downlink signal is enhanced at the terminal location and suppressed elsewhere. Beam forming can be used to further suppress the energy signature at locations other than the terminal location.

Cuando el traspaso se completa, el BSC tambien puede enviar un mensaje de actualizacion de pseudo celda a una SGSN servidora. El mensaje incluye un identificador de la MS y parece a la SGSN que es de la MS. Despues de que la llamada conmutada en circuito se reconecta, la sesion de datos de paquetes se reestablece rapidamente utilizando la informacion enviada a la estacion movil antes del mando de traspaso, y sin tener que enviar un mensaje de actualizacion de celda de la Ms.

Después de la sincronizacion del sistema, las estaciones moviles identifican la celda conectada a través de una característica de capa física, y lleva a cabo el acceso inicial al sistema. Además una estacion movil para operar en el mencionado sistema de comunicacion y un método en la mencionada estacion movil.

Abstract: Control of the transmission of streaming data between a first data processing system and a second data processing system in a packet network is provided. Priorities are assigned to packets of the streaming data based on characteristics of the packets of streaming data. Performance of transmission of the packets from the first data processing system to the second data processing system is monitored and retransmission of selected ones of the packets from the first data processing system to the second data processing system is terminated based on the assigned priority of the selected ones of the packets and the monitored performance of transmission. The streaming data may be progressively encoded. Furthermore, the priorities assigned to the packets of streaming data may be based on the level of progressive coding associated with a packet of data.
