Overcharging of portions of a fluid e.g. expensive ionic fluid, is allowed in a discharge pipe (5) during a compression cycle. The overcharged fluid is separated from a compressed medium by a separating unit (6). Another overcharged fluid (7) that is separated from the compressed medium is lead back into the cylinder of the compressor.
