    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a LAN antenna which alleviates an interference or the like and which improves a throughput and to provide its reflector. SOLUTION: A cylindrical reflector having a through hole corresponding to the shape of the element of the LAN antenna in which the element including a linear conductor is projected, is inserted from a base into the element, and the reflector is turned to the position for forming directivity in a specific direction, and set. The planar plate or the curved plate for forming the reflecting surface of the reflector is arbitrarily set, and hence a radiating pattern of a desired beam is formed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helical antenna which can be used for two kinds of frequencies and the band width of which can be widened. SOLUTION: When the diode 2 of a radiating element composed of a helical element 1, the diode 2, and another helical element 3 is in a turned-off state, only the helical element 1 works as a radiating element, because the elements 1 and 3 are insulated at a high frequency. When the diode 2 is in an on-state, the elements 1 and 3 work in a connected state, because the elements 1 and 3 are electrically conducted at a high frequency.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength of the entire antenna and to stabilize antenna characteristics by bending both end parts of a radiating element in a U shape in the case of spatially feeding power by a microstrip line using a dielectric substrate. SOLUTION: This element is constituted of a radome 1 constituted of a dielectric, a radiating element plate 2 whose both end parts are bent in the U shape, the microstrip line 3 for feeding the power to the radiating element plate 2, the dielectric substrate 4 for forming the line 3, a ground plate 5 closely adhered to the lower part of the dielectric substrate 4 and a base plate 6. In this case, the radiating element plate 2 is closely adhered to the radome 1 and the dielectric substrate 4 and both end parts perform the role of the rib of the radome 1, decide the height dimension of the entire antenna and improve the strength of the entire antenna.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To select either a left rotatory or a right rotatory circularly polarized wave and to use the selected wave by selecting the direction of a current flowing in spiral in a loop or a semi-loop conductor. CONSTITUTION:When a positive bias voltage is applied to a center conductor of a coaxial feeder 4, a current supplied from the center conductor of the coaxial feeder 4 flows into a loop conductor 1 via a diode 5 counter clockwise and flows in a loop conductor 2 via a diode 7 counter clockwise, flows to a ground via a diode 11 into a loop conductor 3 via a diode 9 counter clockwise and the current flows equivalently in spiral to allow a right rotatory polarized wave to radiate from the rear to the front direction of this paper. Similarly, when a negative bias voltage is applied to the center conductor of the coaxial feeder 4, the current flows in spiral in the opposite direction to allow a left rotatory polarized wave to radiate from the rear to the front direction of this paper. Thus, either the left rotatory or the right rotatory circularly polarized wave selectively radiates from the conductor.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate the array forming and the impedance adjustment by providing a spiral conductor to one face of a flat dielectric layer, providing a ground conductor to nearly entire other face, connecting a microstrip line to an outer end of the spiral conductor via a converter and forming a nearly circular window to the ground conductor. CONSTITUTION:A spiral conductor 1 being a pattern forming of a thin metallic film is arranged to an upper face of a flat dielectric layer 3. A converter 4 whose length is 1/4lambda9 (where lambda9 is a wavelength of the dielectric layer 3) is connected to the outer end of the spiral conductor 1 and a microstrip line 5 is connected as a feeder. On the other hand, a ground conductor 2 made of a metallic thin film is formed to the rear side of the dielectric layer 3, a part corresponding to the spiral conductor 1 is removed as a circular shape to form a window 6. Then a reflector 7 is arranged in parallel to the lower position of the dielectric layer 3 at an interval of nearly 1/4lambda (lambda is a wavelength in air) from the spiral conductor 1. Thus, the array forming is facilitated and the adjustment of impedance is easily realized.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the reduction in the antenna efficiency due to the conductor loss of a radiation conductor by clipping the radiation conductor by means of two dielectric bases fixed together. CONSTITUTION:The radiation conductor 12 is formed by etching a conductor film vapor-deposited or bonded to one face 11 of the dielectric base 1 in a required shape. A face 22 at opposite side of the dielectric base 2 with a ground conductor vapordeposited onto one face with respect to the ground conductor 21 is bonded or thermally molten to the face 11 of the base 1. A current flows to a face in contact with the base 2 of the conductor 12 by an electromagnetic field with the ground conductor 21. The conductor loss is reduced by smoothing sufficiently the face. Since the conductor 12 is clipped between the bases 1, 2 even when the face is smoothed, the possibility of exfoliation from the base 2 is precluded. Since the face of the conductor 12 in contact with the base 2 is smoothed sufficiently, the deterioration in the antenna efficiency of the planar antenna due to the conductor loss of the radiation conductor is reduced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To change an angle in a maximum radiating direction without physically moving an antenna itself by switching two feeding lines and radiating the radiation pattern of a pencil beam whose angles of two types beam peaks are slightly different. CONSTITUTION:Now, when a bias voltage is added to one diode 6 and a circuit is made short, since an impedance to observe the diode 6 side from a branching point (b) and a branching point (c) goes to be extremely large, a feeding is executed from a branching point (a) through a branching line 4a which goes from the branching point (c) through the hot end of a diode 5. The branching point (a) is made off-set only by a (d) in an (x) axial direction from the center of a microstrip line 4 and a synthesized electric field from respective elements goes to be a maximum in -theta direction. When the bias voltage is added to the diode 5, the maximum radiating direction lies in the +theta direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled antenna with a large gain at a designated elevating angle suitable for mounting onto a mobile body by arranging radially plural element antennas of a planer structure constituting a microstrip antenna so as to obtain a conical beam. CONSTITUTION:As the element antenna, a travelling wave type circular polarized wave microstrip line antenna element 3 is used. In selecting the repetitive period length of a bent part of the element 3, the repetitive number of frequencies and the bent shape properly, then the elevating angle theta of the beam 8, peak gain and the frequency band are set freely. In arranging the elements 3 radially, the conical beam 7 of the circularly polarized wave is obtained. The elevating angle theta and the peak gain of the beam 7 are nearly equal to the elevating angle theta and the peak gain of the beam 8 of the element 3.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To select plural resonance frequencies by electrically adjusting the depth of a recessed part of a conductive plate provided on the reflector/radiator side of a dielectric plate. CONSTITUTION:When a bias voltage is not applied to a bias line 8, the recessed part formed with a hole of a ground plate 4 and a recessed part of a base plate 5 resonates with the frequency determined by the depth and the radius of the whole of an upper cavity 9 and a lower cavity 10, the radius of a radiator 2, and the thickness and the dielectric constant of a dielectric plate 1 because a diode 7 is turned off. When the bias voltage is applied to the bias line 8, the recessed part resonates with the frequency determined by the depth and the radius of the upper cavity 9, the radius of the radiator 2, and the thickness and the dielectric constant of the dielectric plate 1 because the diode 7 is turned on and the recessed part is electrically formed with only the upper cavity 9. If there are two frequencies to be used, dimensions of respective parts are set to proper values and the frequency is switched by applying or not applying the bias voltage to the bias line 8.
