PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method capable of efficiently transmitting data while avoiding collision among signals by satisfying delay limitations according to the respective data to be transmitted by plural communication units each having a different communication system.SOLUTION: When notice signals φA, φB and φC corresponding to communication systems A, B, C and a notice signal (not shown) corresponding to a communication system D are transmitted during a control signal section C of an allocated communication cycle H, the data slots of a control cycle T configuring a communication cycle H2 are periodically assigned to the communication systems A, B, C in advance. In this case, the data slots to be assigned to the communication systems fixedly correspond to the respective communication systems.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable charger for vehicles that suppresses a theft during the charge.SOLUTION: A portable charger for vehicles has: a main body case 1; an input terminal 16 and an output terminal 18 provided to the main body case 1; an input line 11 led from the input terminal 16 to outside the main body case 1; an output line 13 led from the output terminal 18 to outside the main body case 1; a current carrying path connecting between the input terminal 16 and the output terminal 18 in the main body case 1; a rechargeable battery 23 and a controller 22 connected to the current carrying path; a PLC (Power Line Communication) communication controller 21 connected to the controller 22; and alarm means 24. The controller 22 issues an alarm by the alarm means 24 when the conduction from the output terminal 18 to the output line 13 is disconnected after the conduction from the input line 11 to the input terminal 16.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and communication method in which, even in the case where a plurality of types of communication apparatus according to different communication systems are connected to a common transmission line, communication can be performed without incurring signal collision.SOLUTION: A communication apparatus is configured to perform communication using a first communication system, which can not communicate with any other communication apparatus performing communication using a second communication system, through a power line to which the other communication apparatus performing communication using the second communication system is connectable. The communication apparatus includes: an AC cycle detector 130 for generating a synchronizing signal based on an AC power waveform of the power line; a communication controller 120 which performs control to acquire a band used for communication by the communication apparatus based on the synchronizing signal, performs control so that the other communication apparatus does not perform communication in the band acquired by the communication apparatus, and transmits a first control signal which is set to identify the other communication apparatus, to the other communication apparatus having a second communication control unit capable of detecting the first control signal; and a data communicator 110 for communicating with the other communication apparatus employing the first communication system, while using the band.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line communication apparatus, integrated circuit and power line communication method which perform communication, while avoiding collisions of signals. SOLUTION: The power line communication apparatus repeatedly outputs a first multi-carrier signal SS during predetermined periods T1, T2, T3,..., and outputs a second multi-carrier signal RS, whose phase vector is different from that of the first multi-carrier signal SS, at a predetermined timing based on the first multi-carrier signal SS. The power line communication apparatus, further, detects the second multi-carrier signal RS output from another power line communication apparatus which uses a different communication method from that of the power line communication apparatus itself. Consequently, both the power line communication apparatuses is able to differentiate the first multi-carrier signal SS from the second multi-carrier signal RS, without having to perform relatively cumbersome modulation and other processes. SOLUTION: A termination sequence length determination part 631 determines the sequence length of a termination sequence to be added to the rear end of an information sequence and transmitted corresponding to the information length (information size) of the information sequence and an encoding rate. A parity calculation part 632 executes LDPC-CC encoding to the information sequence and a known information sequence required for generating the termination sequence for the determined termination sequence length and calculates a parity sequence. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus and method for performing carrier detection in a frequency domain for a digital wavelet multi-carrier transmission. SOLUTION: A wavelet transform of received data is performed to output complex data and then the complex data are delayed for one sampling period. Subsequently, the delayed complex data and delayed complex data are divided. The number of divided complex data being present within each of quadrants on orthogonal coordinates is calculated and the maximum number of data being present within one of the quadrants is selected and compared with a threshold in order to decide whether the received data are intended data. SOLUTION: A PLC modem 10 includes two sets of hardware for performing communication processing. Communication using a sub carrier in a low frequency band is fundamentally achieved by a main IC 31 and an AFE IC 32 and communication using a sub carrier in a high frequency band is fundamentally achieved by a sub IC 41 and an AFE IC 42. Furthermore, communication using low and high frequency bands (broadband communication) is achieved using both the hardware. SOLUTION: The power using system has such a structure a first DC voltage is output to an outlet 13 of a voltage changer for each house 9, a second DC voltage higher than the first DC voltage is output to an outlet 14, and a third DC voltage higher than the second DC voltage is output to an outlet 15. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and method with a multi-carrier transmission system capable of using a pilot symbol that can handle a complex-number information, in data transmission of the multi-carrier transmission system operating by OFDM based on the wavelet transform for performing real coefficient wavelet transform. SOLUTION: When establishing the pilot symbol in a data transmission by using a DWMC transmission system, in a plurality of transmission symbols on a time axis, the pilot symbol that becomes a sinusoidal wave signal is established by giving continuous identical data in a plurality of prescribed symbols. A transmission signal using the pilot symbol is transmitted between a transmitter and a receiver, so that a transmission channel can be equalized by the complex-number information obtained by the pilot symbol.
