Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for improving transmission opportunity (TxOP) truncation in wireless communication. In some implementations, a transmit opportunity (TxOP) period truncation or whether to update a network allocation vector (NAV) timing based on a message that includes transmitter and receiver information (such as a transmitter address (TA) and a receiver address (RA)) may be determined. For example, a station may receive a contention-free end (CF-End) frame and determine a TxOP period truncation based on comparing a TA and an RA included in the CF-End frame with a TA and an RA included in an earlier received message (e.g., an RTS). Such information may be compared to other TAs or RAs associated with NAV timing values and the NAV timing may be set, reset, updated, or canceled based on the comparison.

The apparatus is configured to transmit an initiation message to the publishing device, which is providing a NAN service, to initiate the security negotiation for establishing the secure NDP. The initiation message may indicate that the publishing device will be the authenticator in the security negotiation.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable mediums for authenticating a device are disclosed. In some aspects, a method includes determining, using a second device, a key shared with the first device, generating, by the second device, a first pairwise master key (PMK) based on the key shared with the first device. The method may also include generating, by the second device, a second pairwise master key (PMK) for a first access point based on the first pairwise master key, and one or more properties of the first access point. The method then transmits the second pairwise master key to the first access point. The first access point may use the second pairwise master key to facilitate secure communication with the first device. For example, the first access point may encode/encrypt and/or decode/decrypt messages exchanged with the first device based on the second pairwise master key.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for independent basic service set based data paths for neighbor aware networks are described herein. The apparatus comprises a receiver configured to receive a service discovery frame from a device in a neighbor aware network. The apparatus comprises a processor configured to determine a timing for an announcement traffic indication message window, wherein the timing is defined as an offset from a beginning of a discovery window for the neighbor aware network. The apparatus comprises a transmitter configured to transmit an announcement traffic indication message during the announcement traffic indication message window. The service discovery frame comprises an independent basic service set availability attribute defining a duration of the announcement traffic indication message window.

Abstract: Systems and methods for more efficient mesh associations are disclosed. In some aspects, a non-member device may join a mesh network via a four way message exchange with any member device of the mesh network. The four way message exchange between the mesh member device and the non-member device provides for authentication and association between the two devices. As a result of the four way message exchange, a common group key is provided to the non-member device. The common group key is utilized by all mesh member devices to encrypt and decrypt group addressed mesh messages exchanged between any of the mesh member devices. Association identifiers for each of the two devices are also provided during the exchange. PHY/MAC capabilities may also be exchanged. In some aspects, IP address assignment for the two devices may also be accomplished during the four way message handshake.
