Abstract: PURPOSE: To effectively avert the intermodulation distortion between a first information signal and a second information signal by recording the first information signal by a first laser beam modulated by the first information signal on an optical disk and recording the second information signal by a second laser beam modulated by this secod information signal on the optical disk. CONSTITUTION: A first laser diode modulation circuit 34 of an optical disk device 30 is inputted with the frequency modulation signal S4 outputted from a frequency modulation circuit FMOD and drives the first laser diode of an optical pickup 32. A second laser diode modulation circuit 38 drives the second laser diode of the optical pickup 32 in accordance with the output signal of a mixer 36. As a result, the circuit 38 intermittently rises the light quantity of the second laser beam projected from the recond laser beam to the quantity of the writing light from the light quantity at the time of reproduction to follow up the rise of the output signal of the mixer 36. A video signal S2 and other signal are discretely recorded to avert the intermodulation distortions in the device 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make possible perfect detection of dropout including micro dropout (DO). CONSTITUTION:An automatic power control(APC) circuit 35 normally controls the power of laser light emitted from a laser diode 30 to a value suitable for read out and the power is modulated by a fixed frequency signal delivered from an oscillation circuit 50. The modulated laser light is projected to an unrecorded write once(WO) disc and the reflected laser light is directed to a photodiode 40. An amplifier 43 delivers a modulated signal to an FM demodulator 51 and the demodulated signal is subjected to band limitation through an LPF 52, amplification through an amplifier 53, DC cut through a capacitor 54 thence fed to a comparator 55. When the demodulated signal exceeds a reference value, the comparator 55 outputs a defect detection signal (the part predictive of dropout) while a pulse generator 56 outputs a recording pulse having width equal to about one period of FM carrier and a current amplifier 57 feeds a high current to the diode 30 during that pulse interval thus recording a defective position designating signal on the unrecorded WO disc.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate deterioration of a reproducing signal due to the variation of a light source, deviation of a servo, generation of dropout, and so on. CONSTITUTION:The signal outputted from a photodetecting element 22 for signal read out is converted to a voltage signal by a current-voltage converter 25. A specified calculation is performed by a matrix amplifier 26 to take out respectively a data signal, i.e., RF signal, pull-in signal for servo, tracking servo signal, focus signal, etc., and those signals are inputted to the numerators of division devices 27A, 27B, 27C and 27D. A monitor signal from the photodetecting element 23 for monitoring the output variation of light source is converted to the voltage signal by a current-voltage converter 29. Then, this monitor signal is inputted to the denominators of each division device 27A, 27B, 27C and 27D through an amplifier 30.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide interchangeability to plural kinds of optical disk by obtaining plural light spots with a grating. CONSTITUTION:A grating 3 by which plural light spots are obtained is turned around an axis O orthogonal to the grating surface by a turning means 12 to change the intervals in the direction orthogonal to the track of an optical disk 7. Positional relations between the track of the disk 7 and light spots are detected by a detecting means 13 to detect the positional deviation of turning of the grating 3, and the turning position is properly set so that intervals of light spots for tracking servo correspond to the track pitch of the disk 7. Thus, interchangeability to plural kinds of optical disk different by track pitch is provided, and the degree of modulation of error in the tracking servo is surely obtained, and a high RF level is obtained in the two-channel constitution.

CONSTITUTION:Each component signal of a color video signal is subjected to time base compression by FIFO memories 11, 12, 13 and multiplexed by mixer circuits 15, 16. A noninterlace scanning signal is divided into two channels and an FM modulation recording signal of each channel is recorded on adjacent tracks of a disk 22. R-Y1, Y1, B-Y and Y3,... are recorded sequentially on a 1st channel and PCM audio signals SA and Y4, SA and Y6,... are sequentially recorded on a 2nd channel. As a result, a noninterlace color video signal is recorded and the PCM audio signal is recorded.

CONSTITUTION:A control signal (s) corresponding to a type of a disk to be reproduced is formed by a control circuit 40 and the control signal (s) is used to control selectors 41, 42, 43 and 44. In the case of the NTSC and MUSE disk, for example, a reproducing signal of a 2nd channel is used. In the case of reproducing the NTSC disk, an FM modulation signal SVa via a trap circuit 17A and an equalizer 24A is selected by the selector 41. Thus, an NTSC signal, a MUSE signal and an HDTV signal are obtained respectively at output terminals 32A, 32B, 32C corresponding to the type of the optical disk 1. Moreover, NTSC and HDTV audio signals are obtained respectively at output terminals 34A, 34C.
