Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely perform the recording of information signal to a magnetic tape and to surely prevent a recorded information from being erased erroneously by making an erroneous recording preventing member changable and operatable with a relatively minor force. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing a changeover operation from the first position of an erroneous recording preventing member 30 to the second position, the erroneous recording preventing member 30 is operated by inserting the nail of the finger of an operator in a space part 55 for an operation formed at the side edge part of an erroneous recording preventing part 32. That is, the side wall 24A of the side of the driving opening part 18 of a sliding groove 24 provided recessedly at the front side face part 53B of an upper-half member 53 in which the erroneous recording preventing part 32 is slided is constituted to be a tapered wall enlarging the opening width of a surface side. Then, a space part 55 with a taper is constituted between the side edge part of the erroneous recording preventing part 32 and the side wall 24A and the erroneous recording preventing member 30 is surely changed over and operated from the first position to the second position with a relatively minor force by hooking the side edge part with the nail inserted in the space part 55.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic tape from being damaged by providing a part to be operated of an opening/closing door at a noncontact position against a door opening/closing operation part of a recording/reproducing device for a data cartridge as a reference. CONSTITUTION:This cartridge is provided with a cartridge case 1 constituted of a base plate 2 and an upper cover 3, a magnetic tape 5 housed in the case 1 runnably and a driving belt running the tape 5. The cartridge is provided with the opening/closing door 16 provided on the cartridge case 1 and the part 16a to be operated is pressurized by the door opening/closing operation member 25b of the recording/reproducing device and opening a head insertion hole. Then, the width of the magnetic tape is formed wider than the width of the magnetic tape 5 of the data cartridge as the reference. Since the part 16a to be operated of the opening/closing door 16 is provided on the noncontact position against the door opening/closing operation member 25b of the recording/ reproducing device for the data cartridge as the reference, opening/closing door 16 is not opened at the time of being inserted into the recording/ reproducing device with the tape width different from each other erroneously, and the magnetic tape 5 is prevented from being damaged.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To protect a magnetic tape, etc., when the data cartridge is inserted into a recording and reproducing device for a cartridge of a narrow magnetic tape by abutting a front edge part of a wide part provided on a base plate against a forward and backward position regulating part. CONSTITUTION:The wide part 41 is projected from a front panel wall of a top cover 3 by expanding the width of a base plate of the data cartridge in the forward and backward direction by 1mm. By providing such a step part of 1mm, a cartridge-in switch pressing surface 3d provided in a part of the front panel wall is not brought into contact with a cartridge-in switch 34 provided in the recording and reproducing device, and hence the switch is not pressed. Consequently, the cartridge-in state is not detected, and hence a magnetic tape driving motor is not operated. Since the magnetic tape 5 is not brought into contact with a magnetic head 32, the magnetic tape is prevented from being damaged.

When the reel 3 of one side is rotationally driven, a magnetic tape is taken up by the reel 3 of one side since the rotation of a reel 2 of another side in the tape loosing direction is being interrupted by a reel locking lever 7 of another side, then the looseness of tape 1 is automatically eliminated, and the tape 1 is strained between a pair of left/right tape guides 22, 23.

In this case, on a front wall 15c of the box body 12, a rib 18 with a rising surface 18a to restrict the position of the tape cassette, etc., is formed. Also, a tilted surface 19, which is made to exist along the axial direction of the rib 18, and the wall thickness of which becomes less toward the opening, is formed. By this method, when molds are closed, the tilted surface 19 is made to extend in the mold opening direction, and therefore, when the molds are opened the mold release force to respective molds 3, 4, is eliminated from being added to the whole of the front wall 15c.
