    Abstract: A three-dimensional object is produced by repeatedly exposing successive layers of liquid photosetting resin (3) at the surface of a quantity of the resin (3) stored in a vessel (2) to a light beam (21) so as to change each light beam exposed layer of the liquid photosetting resin (3) into a solidified layer, stepwise incrementally moving each solidified layer downward into the liquid photosetting resin (3) in the vessel (2) so that a new layer of the liquid photosetting resin (3) is coated on the solidified layer, detecting the temperature of the liquid photosetting resin (3), and heating the liquid photosetting resin (3) in accordance with the detected temperature to maintain the fluidity of the liquid photosetting resin (3).

    Abstract: Apparatus is provided for forming a three-dimensional structure by sequentially laminating hard resin layers by repeatedly irradiating the surface of a liquid photosetting resin (A) with a light beam in a pattern corresponding to the pattern of one of a plurality of parallel decomposed planes obtained by slicing an optional stereographic image and then spreading another layer of resin over the hard resin layer. To obtain an accurate pattern the beam diameter needs to be constant requiring a uniform layer thickness and accurate level control. To achieve this the main tank (2) of the apparatus includes a lead control system comprising a supply tank (8), means to supply resin from the supply tank to the main tank at a rate such that it overflows a wall portion (9) of tank and means to return the overflow to the supply tank. The overflow may be drawn off by suction. The level may be further adjusted by lowering into the tank, a bar controlled by a laser level sensor.

    Abstract: There are provided an optical disc (1) and an optical recording apparatus to form a tracking groove onto an optically recordable disc. This apparatus comprises a recording beam generator (2) to generate a recording beam such as a laser beam having a predetermined spot size so as to form a pattern of a predetermined width onto the disc; a light deflector (6) arranged on an optical path of the recording beam generator; and a driver (12) for driving the light deflector (6), for reciprocatingly moving the recording beam in a radial direction of the disc (1) at a high frequency, and for multi-exposing the disc (1) by the recording beam due to the movement of the recording beam in the radial direction, thereby a groove having a width wider than the pattern of the predetermined width is formed. With this apparatus, both of the discrete information pattern and a groove are formed by using a single recording beam. Namely, both of the pits and a wide groove can be formed by using a single recording spot.

    Abstract: A light modulating apparatus for use with a recording apparatus for recording an information signal on a recording medium includes a light source and an acousto-optic modulator for modulating light emitted from the light source in response to a first electrical signal and thereby producing a modulated light signal for acting on the recording medium. Additionally, the apparatus includes an information signal source for providing an information signal, a high frequency oscillator for producing a carrier signal, a signal modulator for modulating the carrier signal by the information signal and providing therefrom the first electrical signal, and a photo-detector for detecting the modulated light signal and producing in response thereto a second electrical signal. The apparatus further comprises a peak-holding circuit for holding substantially a peak value of the second electrical signal, a comparator for comparing the peak value of the second electrical system with a reference signal and providing a corresponding error signal, and an amplitude modulator for controlling the amplitude of the carrier signal in accordance with the error signal.
