    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube excellent in mechanical strength by setting specific relations between the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction of the inner surface of the glass panel face part and the radiuses of curvature inclusive of the vertical axis direction and diagonal axis direction of the face part outer surface. CONSTITUTION:The captioned cathode-ray tube is so constituted that, when the radiuses of curvature in the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction and diagonal axis direction are Rv, RH and RD, there may be the relation Rv (RHo-RH) and (Rvo-Rv)>(RDo-RD). In this case, the mechanical strength can be improved as said above.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a picture tube having a shadow mask structure for reducing color shift due to thermal expansion by providing a shadow mask comprising a mask skirt section bent against non-effective face at the end of mask section, a frame for supporting said section and a heat reflection layer provided on said frame. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask structure 15 is provided with a bent section 191 such that one end of frame 19 will cover the non-effective face of mask section where the skirt section 18 of mask section is welded directly or through a projection 20 to the inner wall of frame 19 while a heat reflection layer 22 is applied on the inner face of frame 19 facing with the mask skirt section 18. With such structure, radiation of heat produced by electron beam impinged against the mask skirt section 18 and around mask section is reflected to the mask side thus to rise temperature at the skirt section 18, whereby temperature difference between the center and circumference of mask section can be reduced to reduce color shift due to thermal expansion.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To concentrate three electron beams on almot one point on a screen by inserting a focusing member without mutually deflecting the central axes of the electron beam through holes of opposed electrodes that comprise relative principal focusing lenses. CONSTITUTION:When a focusing member 6 is inserted, the equipotential surface 7 of an electric field forms rotational symmetry for the central axis in the aperture of a final electrode 1, but it is located in the reverse direction with the central axis 5 with regard to the central axis 3 as the surface advances to the electron beam advance direction. Thus, the side electron beam is focueed in the direction of the central axis 5 and three electron beams are substantially deflected on a screen so as to be concentrated. However, since the focusing member 6 has the same central axis as the aperture central axis 3 of the final electrode 1, an electron lens is not distoted on the opposed surface of a principal electron lens and the electron beam focusing spot becomes a good circle and then a picture with good resolution can be obtained. In this case, it is important that the central axis 3 of the final electrode 1 should align the central axis of the focusing member, and the good electron beam focusing spot can be obtained by doing so.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To apply the anode voltage in accordance to the dividing ratio of a resistor, by forming the structure for supporting a plurality of color picture tubes with resistors then welding the specific electrode to an electrode strap for supporting planted previously on the resistor. CONSTITUTION:An electron gun 31 is comprising a plurality of electrodes and a structure 32 for supporting said electrodes. The structure 32 has a resistor 32a at the central section while electrode straps 381-411 for supporting are previously planted together with the structure 32 at the position for supporting the electrodes 38, 39, 40, 41 of the resistor 32a. At the position for supporting the electrode except said ones, the electrode straps 371, 361, 331, 341, 351 for supporting are planted on the glass insulation layer 32b formed entirely except the planting section of the straps 381-411. Said electrode is assembled by an assembling zig 51 where the structures 32 are moved from both ends as shown by arrow 52 untill each electrode strap will be contacted then welded. With such structue the anode electrode can be applied in accordance to the dividing ratio of the resistor onto said electrode.
