Se describe un polímero termoplástico desarrollable por la polimerización en estado sólido mezclado con por lo menos un polímero termoplástico diferente, o un relleno en partículas orgánico e inorgánico. La mezcla se polimeriza en estado sólido para proporcionar una aleación de polímero modificado o mezcla de polímero de relleno que tiene por lo menos una propiedad física o química diferente de la mezcla antes de la polimerización en estado sólido. Un sustrato está recubierto con una capa adherente de la aleación de polímero modificado o mezcla de polímero de relleno. La aleación de polímero modificado o mezcla de polímero de relleno puede también coextruirse con una capa de polímero de extrusión termoplástico que tiene una viscosidad de fundido similar a la de la aleación de polímero modificado o mezcla de polímero de relleno y es aplicada a un sustrato para formar un recubrimiento adherente.

An improved easily openable end for a metal container, and aL method of manufacturing the end are disclosed. The metal container is manufactured from a can body and two can ends, one of which is easily openable. The easily openable can end is manufactured from a metal substrate having a score line on its external surface that permits easy removal of at least a portion of the can end from the can body. The score line of the easily openable can end is coated with a iradiation-curable coating composition that impa~ts corrosion resistance along the score line of the easily openable can end.
