Abstract:
A window covering is disclosed with improved light and thermal blocking abilities. The window covering may include a panel that is mountable over a window using magnetic coupling. In particular, the panel may include at least one of a magnetic material and a ferromagnetic material, such that the panel is secured in place over the window by a magnetic force. When not in use over the window, the panel may be secured to a wall as a display piece using magnetic coupling.
Abstract:
A curtain operating assembly has a track 2 with a pulling band 4 and sliding carriages 7, 9. The assembly is also equipped with an electric motor 11 connected to a drive cogwheel 17 and the pulling band. A clutch mechanism allows manual movement of the curtain 8. The drive shaft 33 of the electric motor has an attached claw 22 that may be moved in an axial direction in and out of the drive cogwheel during each rotational direction change of the drive shaft, to thereby engage or disengage the drive shaft.
Abstract:
A device and assembly for screening an area from view. Specifically, an aesthetically pleasing decorated screen or panel for proving privacy to an area such as a pool, patio or lanai. The privacy screen assembly is readily adapted to the geographical location of the purchaser, the intended area to be screened, and the overall amount of privacy which is desired.
Abstract:
A curtain holder is disclosed comprising a decorative element for aesthetically embellishing a curtain, and holding means cooperatively engaging the decorative element after the latter has been placed in a preselected location on a curtain or similar fabric. The holding means engages the decorative element in such manner as to grip the curtain material fabric therebetween without penetrating or otherwise disturbing the integrity of the curtain fabric. In the mostly preferred embodiment, the holding means comprises a magnetic member for establishing a magnetic holding circuit including the decorative element.
Abstract:
An improved opening closure system utilizing a plurality of curtains supported in a way to cover the opening with alternate embodiments having primary and secondary curtains acting as a thermal siphon and with fan units as a power air destratifier.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to a vehicle privacy curtain attachable to a vehicle to form a private enclosed area. The curtain can include a piece of flexible material including a main portion positioned between a laterally extending first flap, a laterally extending second flap, and a vertically extending third flap. In various embodiments the curtain further includes a first set of magnets in the first flap and a second set of magnets in the second flap each including one or more magnets positioned inwardly from a lateral edge at a distance of 0% to 33% of a lateral width of the respective first flap. In embodiments the curtain includes a third set of magnets in the third flap including third and fourth magnets positioned inwardly from their respective edges at a distance of 0% to 33% of a lateral width of the third flap.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a window covering which is useful for securing to objects having windows without using permanent attachment devices. The window covering preferably contains a plurality of magnets arranged along the upper end and along the lower end. The magnets are arranged so that they are coupleable or securable to a metal part of a window itself or a metal surface which houses the window as well as one or more additional magnets positioned within the window covering. The window covering further comprises one or more non-magnetic surface adapters constructed and arranged to secure to at least one magnet along a first surface and to a second, non-magnetic surface along a second surface. The window covering provides at least one contact point for securing to at least one non-magnetic surface.
Abstract:
A curtain system is described that includes a curtain having a plurality of rod engaging members attached at an end thereof. The plurality of rods each have a curtain release mechanism attached thereto where the rod engaging members are configured to engage respective curtain release mechanisms. The curtain release mechanisms each include a user operable mechanism for retention of and subsequent substantially simultaneous release of the rod engaging members from the curtain release mechanisms.
Abstract:
A single-track stacking panel covering for an architectural opening has a headrail for mounting the covering above and in front of the opening, such as a window or door. The headrail has a single track. Suspended from the headrail and translatable therealong are panels oriented at a small angle relative to the headrail. When the covering is open, the panels form an overlappingly stacked array at one end of the headrail.
Abstract:
A magnetic window valance is disclosed. The magnetic window valance can include a sheet of ferromagnetic material, and a decorative layer disposed about the sheet of ferromagnetic material. The magnetic window valance can also include a curtain rod coupling portion extending in a first direction from the decorative layer, and a tab extending in a second direction from the decorative layer and supporting a magnet configured to couple with a proximal magnetic window valance.
