PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain enhancement of the quality of weld of stiffening members to the steel sheet and enhancement of fatigue strength. SOLUTION: This is a stiffened plate comprising steel sheet 10 and, welded to a surface thereof, multiple stiffening members 20 each making a closed cross-sectional structure in cooperation with the steel sheet 10, wherein the stiffening members 20 are bonded by laser welding performed at a given welding rate so that the edge portions thereof in abuttal on the steel sheet 10 are irradiated with laser L of given output in a given direction from outside the closed cross-sectional structure. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily performing friction stir welding to two or more places even if the thickness of the facial sheet in a friction welded part is different from the thickness of the facial sheet in the other friction stir welded part. SOLUTION: Three shape materials 10, 11 and 12 are placed on a fixture 15, and two butts are present. The facial sheet 14 of the shape material 10 is thick, and the facial sheet 14 of the shape material 12 is thin. In the projecting parts 18, the place A where the thick facial sheet is welded is thick in projecting thickness than that in the projecting part at the place B where the thin facial sheet 14 is joined. On friction stir welding, the dimensions at which a rotary tool is inserted into the shape materials 10, 11 and 12 are the same. All the dimensions of the rotary tool can be made the same, further, the amounts of the rotary tool to be inserted can be made the same, and the friction stir joining can easily be performed.
