The carbon composite comprises carbon and a binder containing one or more of the following: SiO 2 ; Si; B; B 2 O 3 ; a metal; or an alloy of the metal; and the metal comprises one or more of the following: aluminum; copper; titanium; nickel; tungsten; chromium; iron; manganese; zirconium; hafnium; vanadium; niobium; molybdenum; tin; bismuth; antimony; lead; cadmium; or selenium.

Es wird ein Fluid zum Zersägen von sprödharten Materialblöcken insbesonders mit Multi Wire Sägen beschrieben. Das Fluid enthält mindestens ein Basisglykol der allgemeinen Formel HO-[ (CH 2 -) x -O] n -H, in der n eine ganze Zahl von 1-14 und x 1, 2, 3 oder 4 bedeutet, sowie ggf. weitere Additive. Das Fluid zeichnet sich durch einen zusätzlichen Gehalt an mindestens einem mit einem Alkyl-Rest veretherten Glykol der allgemeinen Formel HO-[ (CH 2 -) a -O] b -R aus, wobei a 1, 2, 3 oder 4 bedeutet und b eine ganze Zahl von 1-10 ist und R ein linearer oder verzweigter Alkyl-Rest mit 1-8 C-Atomen darstellt und im Wesentlichen wasserfrei ist. Ein solches Sägefluid ist besonders zur Herstellung von Wafern, elektronischen Bauteilen und Photovoltaikzellen geeignet.

The elevated temperature forming of magnesium based alloy workpieces by stretching, drawing, bending (or the like) a surface of the heated workpiece over the forming surface of a forming tool is improved by forming an integral adherent layer of magnesium hydroxide on the tool- contacted surface(s) of the magnesium alloy workpiece. The magnesium hydroxide layer may be formed by treating the surface(s) of the sheet with an aqueous salt solution (e.g., sodium chloride) at a temperature and for a time to form a protective layer of desired thickness (e.g., up to about thirty micrometers). If desired, an additional layer of forming lubricant, such as a film comprising boron nitride, may be applied to the magnesium hydroxide layer.

A threaded joint for steel pipe formed of a pin and a box having a contact surface including threaded parts and a non-threaded metal contact part and capable of stably assuring a seizure resistance and an airtightness without applying compound grease thereto, wherein a solid lubricating film formed with lubricating powder (example: molybdenum disulfide) and organic or inorganic binder is formed on the contact surface of at least one of the pin and box, the ratio of the area occupied by the secondary particles of 15 to 60 mu m in equi-area equivalent diameter of the lubricating powder in the cross section of the solid lubricating film in thickness direction is 5 to 90%, and fiber-like filler (example: inorganic substance whisker) in addition to the lubricating powder is mixed into the solid lubricating film at the mass ratio of the fiber-like filler to binder of 0.01 to 0.5, whereby, particularly, the seizure resistance at high temperatures can be improved.

The present invention provides a new composite material comprising a porous matrix made of metal, metal alloy or semiconducting material and hollow fullerene-like nanoparticles of a metal chalcogenide compound or mixture of such compounds. The composite material is characterized by having a porosity between about 10 % and about 40 %. The amount of the hallow nanoparticles in the composite material is 1-20 wt.%.

The present invention relates to lubricant compositions and can be used for treatment of friction units in different machines and mechanisms in manufacturing processes, the purpose of which is modification of friction surfaces. The basis of the invention is the improvement of lubricant composition, in which as the consequence of the additional use of thickener and wax, the viscosity of lubricant composition sufficient for conversation of uniform distribution of solid component in lubricant composition in broad temperature range is provided; and at the expense of that, the possibility of conservation of lubricant composition in any packaging and bulks, which are usable even under operating conditions of machines and mechanisms, is reached. The lubricant composition acquires the state of gel, that is convenient to put on any friction surface, to deposit on a zone of friction of any friction units. The lubricant composition ensures the receiving of engineering results similar to those, which solid components exhibit using fine-dispersed powder on basis of natural minerals from flaky silicates series and at the same time the sedimentation properties of lubricant composition permit its continuous conservation in broad temperature range without variation of lubrication and modification properties.
