The present invention relates to a non-hydroxide grease composition comprising a base oil and a thickener which comprises amorphous hydrophilic silicon oxide particles and one or more metal salts of different organic acids, wherein the silicon oxide particles have a BET specific surface area of at least 50 m2/g and wherein the amount of the metal salt(s) is 4-25% by weight, based on the total weight of the grease composition. The present invention further relates to a method for manufacturing said grease composition and the use of said grease composition for lubricating a bearing and in couplings and gearings.

The invention provides a grease composition capable of smoothly operating the lubricated parts even under wide-ranging temperature conditions, and at the same time, exhibiting excellent noise reducing effect on, the lubricated parts. The grease composition containing a base oil and a thickener is provided, wherein the base oil includes at least one first base oil selected from the group consisting of poly-α-olefins and ethylene-α-olefin oligomers and at least one second base oil selected from the group consisting of polybutene, polyisobutylene, polymethacrylate, and styrene based copolymers, with the first base oil being contained in an amount of 65 mass % or more and the second base oil being contained in an amount of 1 mass % or more and less than 35 mass % based on the total mass of the base oil, the base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 350 to 1400 mm2/s at 40° C., the first base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 300 to 1200 rnm2/s at 40° C., and the second base oil having a kinematic viscosity of 1500 to 200,000 mm2/s at 40° C.

The invention relates to thermally conductive greases that may contain carrier oil(s), dispersant(s), and thermally conductive particles, wherein the thermally conductive particles are a mixture of at least three distributions of thermally conductive particles, each of the at least three distributions of thermally conductive particles having an average (D50) particle size which differs from the other average particle sizes by at least a factor of five. The thermally conductive greases of the invention exhibit desirable rheological behavior during installation/application and during use of devices involving these materials.

The invention relates to lubricating grease compositions having a base oil mixture based on oils having viscosities (ISO VG 2 to ISO VG 1500) that are standard for industrial lubricants, an ionic liquid, a thickening agent, e.g., based on a polyurea compound and conventional additives that can be used at current service temperatures that are higher than 120° C. to 260° C., in particular at a service temperature in the region of high service temperatures that are higher than 180° C. to 260° C. and also at low temperatures as low as −60° C. The invention also relates to a method for producing said type of lubricating grease compositions.

A lubricant composition for lubricating an interface between an inner surface of a tire and a safety support ring in a run-flat tire system that includes a lubricating agent selected from glycerol, polyalkylene glycol or combinations thereof and a thixotropic agent. The thixotropic agent is an organoclay comprising a mineral clay mixture treated with an alkyl quaternary ammonium salt, wherein the mineral clay mixture comprises at least one of sepiolite, palygorskite and a smectite and wherein a combined amount of palygorskite and sepiolite in the mineral clay mixture is between about 50 wt. % and about 100 wt. % with a balance of the mineral clay mixture being essentially the smectite. The lubricating agent may also be selected from a copolymer that is a mixture of alkylene oxides, preferably a mixture of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide.

The present invention concerns a lubricant composition that can be used to lubricate an interface between a tire and a safety support mounted on a wheel rim inside the tire, the tire and a mounted assembly for an automotive vehicle being provided with the lubricant composition, wherein the lubricant composition according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises an alkene oxide polymer (polyoxyalkene) as the lubricating agent and between 4.0% and 7.5% (% by weight of the lubricant composition) of silica as a thickening agent.

A lubricating grease is specific for a rock bit for drilling subterranean formations. The rock bit body includes a plurality of journal pins, each having a bearing surface, with a cutter cone mounted on each journal pin and also including a bearing surface. A grease reservoir provides lubricating grease to such bearing surfaces. The grease composition adjacent the bearing surfaces comprises a lubricating base oil, sufficient thickener and additives in the base oil to form a rock bit grease, and an effective amount of polarized graphite.

A grease-like silicone composition comprising at least a liquid organopolysiloxane comprising siloxane units represented by the formula R2SiO2/2, siloxane units represented by the formula RSiO3/2, and siloxane units represented by the formula R3SiO1/2 and a thickening agent. A grease-like silicone composition is provided that is capable of containing a large amount of thickening agent and possesses superior heat resistance.
