In an elevator wire rope (1) structured by twisting a plurality of sub-wire ropes (3), each sub-wire rope (3) being formed by twisting a plurality of strands (2), each strand (2) being formed by twisting a plurality of fine steel wires (2a to 2g), the interior of the wire rope being filled with a resin (4), and the surface of the wire rope being covered with a resin (5), wherein the direction in which the fine steel wires (2a to 2g) and the strands (2) are twisted and the direction in which the sub-wire ropes (3) are twisted are mutually opposite, and the diameter d 4 of the inscribed circle of the plurality of twisted sub-wire ropes (3) is smaller than the diameter d 2 of the sub-wire rope (3).

A steel cord (14), formed of a plurality of steel filaments (10), has a construction of Nx(7x2) wherein N = 1 to 7 and where within the circumference of the cross-sectional area, not more than 60 % of the cord area is comprised of the steel filaments. The steel cord has an elongation at break of at least 3%.

PURPOSE: A method for fabricating a hybrid cord is provided to reduce weight and a metal part and enhance minimal breaking strain. CONSTITUTION: A hybrid cord comprises: an inner layer(1) of a steel cord; an intermediate layer(2) of a fiber with high module and high toughness; and an outer layer formed of poly steel or polyolefin fiber. The inner layer is formed of steel wire. The intermediate layer is HPME fiber(high module polyethylene), LCP fiber(liquid crystal polymer), or aramide fiber(aromatic polyamide).

In another aspect, the invention is directed to a rope (30) for use in the jacket (3) of the jacketed mooring rope (1), wherein said rope (30) comprises a plurality of level 1 braided strands (40) that each comprise a plurality of braided yarns (50) surrounding one or more core yarns (51), wherein the braided yarns and the core yarns comprise fibers having a yarn count of at least 440 den; a tenacity of at least 5 g/den; and/or a modulus of at least 100 g/den.

A motorcycle tire comprises: a toroidal carcass comprising two carcass plies of cords arranged at an angle of from 20 to 80 degrees with respect to the tire circumferential direction; and a band comprising at least one ply of at least one helically wound cord disposed radially outside the carcass. The band cord is made of steel filaments of 0.08 to 0.20 mm diameter twisted together into a L×M×N structure. The band cord has a low tensile elastic modulus range and a high tensile elastic modulus range, wherein an inflection point between the low tensile elastic modulus range and the high tensile elastic modulus range lies between 2% elongation and 7% elongation of the cord, and a tensile force required to cause 2% elongation of the band cord is not more than 60 Newton.
