Abstract:
Abstract:
A prefabricated floor panel having a substantially solid raised floor board flanked by upright sides integrally moulded with a plurality of laterally spaced arched ribs that support an underside of the board and that define one or more tunnels that run under the board and open to at least one of the raised sides of the board, the panel having hooks protruding from at least one edge of the panel and one or more notches recessed in at least another edge of the panel for abutting floor panels of the like.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing the performance characteristics of a modular synthetic floor tile, which includes configuring a plurality of structural members to define an upper contact surface with a plurality of openings in the upper contact surface of the floor tile, configuring each of the structural members to comprise a thickness sufficient to support a load about the upper contact surface and with a contact flat having a smooth surface and a width between 0.03 and 0.08 inches, and configuring the upper contact surface with a dry static coefficient of friction of at least 0.6 and an abrasion index no greater than 20.
Abstract:
A self-supporting paving for outdoor use comprises a self-supporting structural element on which there is defined a carrying platform which has a substantially level surface and an opposite surface which has a plurality of ribs, the carrying platform is surrounded circumferentially by a frame which has, at least at two contiguous sides, means for engagement with the frame of an adjacent structural element; at least one ceramic paving tile is applied to the level surface of the carrying platform.
Abstract:
The invention provides blocks made of certain material, equipped with drainage and ventilation functions, and a side of the blocks formed with first interlocking part and second interlocking part in the opposite but corresponding side while other two sides without the interlocking part formed with ventilating channels penetrating the center of the block unit and other areas without first and second interlocking parts equipped with chamfered channels in certain length and width. The blocks of the invention are paved in multi-layers and equipped with numerous ventilation channels and longitudinal grooving. Thus, the multi-layer structure provides sound drainage of water and moisture while preventing subsidence of road via maximizing the maintenance period of the pavement.
Abstract:
A pre-fabricated concrete slab system and method have matching rectangular slabs with cooperatively fitting male and female type connectors (26, 32, 106, 118) which fit adjacent to each other in a checkerboard fashion. The slabs (10, 12, 100) include spaced reinforcing rods (18, 36, 102, 104) extending longitudinally and transversely therethrough. In at least some of the slabs, the rods' distal ends protrude outwardly away from one or more side edges of the slabs to form a plurality of male connectors (26, 106). Correspondingly, at least some of the slabs include a plurality of corresponding female sockets (32, 118) on one or more sides thereof, each female socket receiving a corresponding male connector when dropped therein. Through interconnection of corresponding female sockets and male connectors by steel reinforcing bars extending in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, a continuous tension reinforcement is established between adjacent slabs in both the longitudinal and transverse directions.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus providing a tile (110) configured to form a modular floor covering including an array (100) of substantially identical tiles. The tile (110) includes a top surface (112), bottom side (114), a front side (116), a rear side (118), a first lateral side (120), and a second lateral side (122). The top surface (112) includes an elongated shape and the bottom side (114) includes a support grid (128). The front and rear sides (118) and (120) are defined along a longitudinal length of the elongated shape. The front side (116) includes at least one first hinge member (140) and the rear side (118) includes at least one complementary second hinge member (150) configured to be engageable with at least one first hinge member (140) of an adjacently positioned tile. The first and second lateral sides (120) and (122) define a width of the elongated shape with the first and the second lateral sides (120) and (122) including respective coupling portions (160) and (170), such as tab and slot configuration, each ahving a coupling length at least one-third the width of the elongated shape.
Abstract:
A pavement system utilizing a plurality of individual pavement segments (12). The elevation of the individual pavement segments can be adjusted by pumping a flowable material below the pavement segments through pre-formed ports (20) in the pavement segments.
