Abstract:
A threaded joint for pipes is provided in which a box-side lip length L, which is the axial distance between a pin-nose-end corresponding point P of the box component 1 and a load surface 18b of a lip-side internal thread ridge 50 closest to the pin-nose-end corresponding point P, is 300 or more times as long as an insertion surface interval δ, which is the axial interval between an insertion surface 19b of an internal thread ridge at a position two or more ridges backwards from the lip-side internal thread ridge 50 and an insertion surface 19a of an external thread ridge facing the insertion surface 19b when tightened, that is, L≧300×δ.
Abstract:
A tubular threaded joint has a pin and a box. Each having a contact surface comprising a threaded portion and an unthreaded metal contact portion including a seal portion and a shoulder portion. A solid lubricating coating having a relatively high Knoop hardness is formed on a portion including the shoulder portion of the contact surface, such as the unthreaded metal contact portion including the shoulder portion and the seal portion, of at least one of the pin and the box. A solid lubricating coating having a relatively low Knoop hardness is formed at least on the remaining portion of the contact surface, such as the threaded portion. The threaded joint has excellent galling resistance, gas tightness, and rust preventing properties. The joint does not readily undergo yielding of shoulder portions even when made up with a high torque, thereby making it possible to perform makeup in a stable manner.
Abstract:
A urea feed or return line (2) that comprises a hollow coupling (1) enabling it to be connected to a urea tank and that comprises a passage for the urea, this coupling being, in addition, equipped with a heating filament (9), at least one part of which extends freely inside the passage provided for the urea, this part having the shape of a loop or a spiral capable of also extending at least partly into the tank and/or into a tube attached thereto.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a coupling arrangement (6) for releaseably connecting a first line segment (26) provided on a first unit (2) to a second line segment (28) provided on a second unit (4), comprising connecting means that can be applied to the first unit (2) complementary connecting means that can be applied to the second unit (4) and that can be fixed to the connecting means, and a control device (32) that can be positioned between the first line segment (26) and the second line segment (28) and that can be switched between a blocking position, in which the connection between the first line segment (26) and the second line segment (28) is blocked, and a flow position, in which the connection between the first line segment (26) and the second line segment (28) is open. The control device (32) comprises a control body (30) rotatably support between the blocked position and the flow position that can be positioned at a distance between the first line segment (26) and the second line segment (28) and in which an intermediate line segment (38) is embedded, by means of which the first line segment (26) can be connected to the second line segment (28).

Abstract:
Plumbing valves, fittings, and other water handling devices are manufactured of a metal, such as silicon bronze, having a lead content below 0.2%. Such devices are subsequently electroplated with a galvanizing solution including saline or alkaline solutions containing nickel and tin. The resultant plated products can be soldered to the remaining copper components of a plumbing system using conventional lead-free solder.
Abstract:
A hose connector with adjustable ambient air inlets according to the present disclosure includes a conduit section having a plurality of spaced-apart holes covered by an adjustable outer ring having a similar pattern of spaced-apart holes. Turning the outer ring relative to the conduit section, permits the holes in the conduit section to be either fully opened, fully covered, or at some intermediate condition.
Abstract:
A fire sprinkler fitting has a cylindrical body and an insert. The insert has an inner end which is disposed within a proximal portion of the bore, such that the outer end protrudes beyond the open bore end by a distance D. The outer end has internal threads which are sized and dimensioned to accept and retain a fire sprinkler therein. The insert is rotatable within the body without effecting the distance D.
Abstract:
In order to minimize opportunities for dirt, grime, moisture and adverse atmospheric conditions to enter a fitting for coupling a flexible plastic tubes in a quick connect-type coupling, a collet used within the coupling has a constant diameter boss at one end and slots splitting the collet into spring fingers, which slots do not extend into the boss. The collet is received within a bore in an annular body, wherein the bore includes a cylindrical surface that is substantially completely engaged by an outer cylindrical surface of the boss, with the end of the boss projecting from the body a substantial distance beyond the bore.
