An insulating vacuum panel comprising a microporous, open cell silica foam or a precipitated silica insulating support member enclosed within a sealed, flexible polymeric envelope, the envelope comprising a heat-sealable barrier film comprising a multiple layer laminate containing at least one polyethylene terephthalate layer and at least two barrier layers selected from the group consisting of polyvinylidene chloride, polyvinyl alcohol, polyamide, polyolefin and aluminum foil, or a biaxially oriented liquid crystal barrier film which minimizes permeation of gas and liquid through the barrier film, the panel having an R value per inch of at least about 20 wherein the enclosed insulated vacuum panel is useful as insulation to maintain an essentially constant temperature in a closed structure, a system for storing and transporting temperature-sensitive materials wherein the insulated vacuum panels are employed to provide and maintain a constant temperature in the system, a method for manufacturing the insulating vacuum panel, and a system for storing and transporting temperature-sensitive materials are described.

PURPOSE: A vacuum insulation material for a refrigerator is provided to prevent a heat bridge phenomenon causing in perimeter parts and improve insulation efficiency at the edge of a sealing member. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum insulation material for a refrigerator comprises a core material and a sealing member(100). The sealing member comprises a pair of laminated films including inorganic-coated film. The perimeter parts(120) of the laminated films are formed of an envelope shape and the sealing member accommodates the core material. A reinforcing foil is covered in the sealing member except for the perimeter parts.

A refrigerator is provided to dispose a heat transfer blocking element between an evaporator and an insulating material for reducing thermal deformation of the insulating material, thereby reducing expansion and retraction of an inner casing and the noise generated between the inner casing and the insulating material. A refrigerator includes a main body cabinet having an outer casing and an inner casing(10) disposed in the outer casing for forming storing chambers, wherein a foaming space is defined between the inner and outer casings. An insulating material(17) is filled in the foaming space for insulating the storing chambers. An evaporator(9) is disposed in a receiving part(14) of the inner casing for carrying out heat transfer between refrigerant and air. A heat transfer blocking element(90) is disposed between the evaporator and the insulating material for preventing heat transfer from the evaporator to the insulating material so as to prevent the deformation of the insulating material.

PURPOSE: A vacuum insulation panel is provided to enhance insulation performance since heat transfer is done through a pair of panel members and a plurality of spacers. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum insulation panel comprises a plurality of panel members(10), a plurality of spacers(12) and an outer cover. The spacer is interposed between the panel members and maintains a given interval between them. The outer cover hermetically covers the panel members. The panel members and the spacers are formed from fiber reinforced plastics. The spacers are installed on each corner and the center of the panel members and forms hollow parts between the panel members. The outer cover has a structure, in which aluminum foil, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, low-density polyethylene are successively deposited. The panel members are covered in a vacuum chamber by the outer cover.

PURPOSE: A vacuum insulation material for a refrigerator is provided to block thermal bridge phenomenon and achieve thermal insulation and moisture interception without using aluminum foil. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum insulation material for a refrigerator comprises a core material and a sealing member. The sealing member has a pair of laminated films including a film coated inorganic layers. The peripheral parts(120a,120b,120c,120d) of the laminated film is sealed to form an envelope shape. The sealing member comprises a reinforcing foil which is coated in the side surface of only one of the laminated films.

A refrigerator is provided to prevent deformation of an internal case and a heat insulating member and generation of abnormal noises by heat generated from an evaporator. A refrigerator includes an internal case(12), a heat insulating member(13), and a heat blocking member(50). The internal case and the heat insulating member are installed near an evaporator(40). The heat blocking member blocks heat generated from the evaporator to prevent the internal case and the heat insulating member from being directly affected by temperature change of the evaporator. The heat blocking member is installed between an inner surface of the internal case and the evaporator. One side of the heat blocking member is attached to the inner surface of the internal case, and the other side is attached to the evaporator.
