Abstract:
A color sphere (100) has a plurality of organized color cells. The color cells are gradually lighter from a bottom (108) to a top (110). A first color cell is selected from the color sphere. Radial, horizontal peripheral, vertical peripheral directions (104, 106, 107) are identified relative to the first color cell. The color cells of the sphere 100 are organized so that they only match in the radial direction (104), horizontal peripheral direction (106) and in the vertical peripheral direction (107). A second color cell is selected only when the second color cell is in selected direction.
Abstract:
A method in a data processing system, a data processing system, and a computer program in computer useable medium generating a numeric specification for one or more target colors that are useful for selecting colors in which a target lightness (Ltarg), a target hue (Htarg) and a target saturation (Ctarg) are determined based upon user inputs.
Abstract:
A color measurement instrument to develop the designer color shades with D/8, D/0, 45/), 0/45, D(hemisphere)/8, D(hemisphere)/0) or any other spectral geometry in the range of 350-1100 nm or with any wavelength combinations in visible region of user's choice, with the illumination source, integrating sphere (in case of D8), detector with an optical assembly between source and the sample &the sample and the detector for proper optical focusing using a variable sample aperture.
Abstract:
A distributed color selection and coordination system including a remote computer communicatively coupled to a server. The remote computer configured to select a starting color and access a database in the server to find one or more complementary colors. The colors in the database arranged in a predetermined relationship with other colors in the database, the relationship between colors based on color theory. The remote computer being capable of storing personal information and color selections on the server. An in-store kiosk is communicatively coupled to the server and configured to execute color selection and coordination software. The in-store kiosk being capable of retrieving stored personal information and color selections from the server which was previously stored from the remote computer.
Abstract:
Color selection and display methods and devices in which colors can be displayed according to color harmony and color emotion and feedback obtained on color emotion and color harmony evoked by selected color and/or color combinations.
Abstract:
A general purpose computer system is used to run a color selection application which operates to facilitate the selection of colors and the automatic generation of palettes of harmonious colors. The application is implemented in three pages, a color selection page, a results manager page, and a color composition page. The color selection page is used to select a plurality of colors that the results manager page can operate on to generate palettes of harmoniously related colors. The color composition page is used to experiment with the colors selected and palettes generated in order to arrive at a pleasing arrangement of colors. The results manager page contains functions and palette characteristics that an artist can specify in order to automatically generate palettes that contain groups of colors that have very specific contrast relationships to previously selected colors.
Abstract:
A device comprising an illumination means and a light sensing means, that can examine and memorize a discrete color of an object based on the magnitude of the reflected light bouncing off of the colored surface in at least three areas of the electromagnetic spectrum. The device also provides output as a visually and/or audibly perceptible signal for deciphering the color. The color range identified by the device is not limited to the visible spectrum and may include infra-red and ultra-violet light. A storage means for memorizing colors may also be included in the device. Applications of ColorStick technology may include children's toys, aids for the visually handicapped (e.g. blind or color blind individuals), designers, internet shoppers, gardeners, etc.
Abstract:
A hair color advice system for forming a simulated image if a testee changes hair to a desired color and properly proposing a hair dye necessary to change the current hair color to a desired one, comprising (i) an image storing means for receiving and storing image information of the testee, (ii) an operation means for identifying a hair region of the testee's input image and forming a simulated image having the color of the hair region changed to a preset hair color, and (iii) a monitor (4) for outputting the input image and/or simulated image of the testee.
