Abstract:
The user interaction system comprises a portable pointing device (101) connected to a camera (102) and sending pictures to a digital signal processor (120), capable of recognizing an object (130) and a command given by the user (100) by moving the pointing device (101) in a specific way, and controlling an electrical apparatus (110) on the basis of this recognition. (Characteristic) pattern generation means (116) can be included in the system for facilitating object recognition.
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a data processing apparatus that can employ together application programs for both a portable telephone and a contactless card terminal and that can communicate with an external device in accordance with a predetermined protocol by using, as needed, an appropriate-application program, and a data processing method that uses this data processing apparatus. A hybrid portable communication terminal, which serves as a data processing apparatus and comprises terminals having different communication systems, can employ together or selectively, as needed, an application program for a telephone terminal and an application program for performing various data processing procedures, with an external communication terminal, using close-range contactless communication.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A trainable transmitter includes code generation circuitry and a socket for receiving a plug-in module having circuitry for generating an RF signal incorporated therein. By selecting the appropriate plug-in module, the user can expand the frequency transmission range of the transmitter beyond that which may be pre-installed on the transmitter.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a remote control device having a touch sensitive screen which both displays a set of icons for controlling a given device and is the means by which input is effected by the user. The screen can receive hand written instructions or finger pressure on specific areas of the screen. Character recognition is used to identify the hand written inputs. A control signal can be generated by the remote controller to effect programming and control of electrical equipment, such as TV's, videos, stereos and the like.
Abstract:
A universal remote controller includes a card and a housing. The card includes an information tag. The housing includes a touch panel, a slot, a reader, a memory, a processor, and a signal transmitter. The memory is used for storing a plurality of databases. When the card is inserted to the slot, the reader in the housing induces the driving signal corresponding to the information tag of the card. The processor enables a corresponding database from the memory according to the driving signal and further provides a plurality of remote control functions on the transparent touch panel corresponding to positions of a plurality of key images according to the enabled database.
