    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the action over a wide range of the region at an extremely lower temperature than a room temperature by a method wherein a superconductive material is adhered on one side of reed pieces branched into two, and a non-superconductive material is adhered on the other side. CONSTITUTION:Reed pieces 11 and 12 composed of a soft magnetic substance or a semi-soft magnetic substance branched into two in the halfway are prepared. A noble metallic material serving as the junction material for the non-superconductor is adhered on one side D by sputtering or vapor deposition method, etc. A niobium film serving as the junction material for the superconductor is adhered on the other side E by vapor deposition or sputtering. The reeds 11 and 12 are arranged in opposition to each other, and He gas is sealed into a glass tube 15. Then, the junction points act as a superconductive switch of zero contact resistance at a temperature less than the extremely low temperature at 9.25 deg.K wherein niobium becomes a superconductor and then becomes a non-superconductor at a temperature more than 9.25 deg.K, therefore the points have the contact resistance in a normal reed switch.

The three layers comprise first a layer of titanium of approximately 15 to 150 micro inches, second a layer of molybdenum of 15 to 150 micro inches, and finally a contact layer of 5 to 20 micro inches of ruthenium, or other platinum group metal or alloy. The layers may be applied by any suitable methods, for example by sputtering.
