    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner control system and a scanner driver program capable of equally controlling both a scanner that can acquire information required for identifying the function of a scanner from a scanner, and a scanner that cannot acquire the information from a scanner. SOLUTION: For a USB scanner, a scanner driver having a PC searches an USB device on a bus (S301), and determines whether the scanner is compatible based on scanner information acquired from the USB device (S303-S309). For a network scanner, the scanner information is acquired from a setting file into which the scanner information is stored in advance (S311), and determines whether the scanner is compatible based on the scanner information acquired from the setting file (S313-S319).
