Abstract:
A photographic system involves the collection of data from a scene, e.g., a visitor attraction site, that is capable of interactive communication with a user. The attraction site stores content data related to the site, and the user communicates with the attraction site through a camera capable of communication with the site. Besides capturing an image associated with the site, the camera stores predetermined personality data that relates an interest of the user to at least a portion of the content data and includes means for transferring the personality data to the attraction site. The camera further includes means for receiving and displaying the portion of the content data from the attraction site, and a user interface for selecting from the displayed content data that part which the user wants to keep. In this manner, information relevant to a user's interests about a photographed item can be easily requested, accessed and stored with the specific pictures that the user has captured.
Abstract:
A wireless mode between a scanner and an image communication apparatus is changed, in response to completion of image transmission from the scanner to the image communication apparatus, completion of print of the image sent from the scanner to the image communication apparatus, completion of transmission via a communication line connected to the image communication apparatus of the image sent from the scanner to the image communication apparatus, instructions to stop print of the image sent from the scanner to the image communication apparatus, instructions to stop transmission via the communication line connected to the image communication apparatus of the image sent from the scanner to the image communication apparatus, and states of the scanner and the image communication apparatus at a predetermined time and so on. For example, a low power consumption mode and communication mode of Bluetooth communication are switched to each other.
Abstract:
An appliance indicates that it is transferring information over a wireless communication path to an external device by displaying an animation. In one embodiment, an animation indicates that the appliance is attempting to establish communication over an infra red (IR) port with the external device by displaying an animation having an light emitting diode (LED) with emanating waves propagating away from the LED. Movement of the waves stop when communication is established. The wave edges indicate a maximum cone angle indicating the direction that the IR port must be pointed to establish and maintain communication with the external device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a digital integrated apparatus capable of registering and fetching image data, and has an object to solve various problems resulting from the necessity of the user authentication at the time of using the apparatus. Specifically, it is arranged that, the display-input control means 92a classifies the user authentication under the first user authentication in a specific level and the second user authentication in a lower level than the first one, and then judges based on the initial setting whether the result of the second user authentication is valid or not. The first user authentication is based on the attribute of user's personal information including a user registration card Ku, and the second user authentication is based on the user ID and password inputted from the control panel 92. Therefore, it is possible to limit the fetching by using the other person's user ID and password.
Abstract:
A method for processing images comprises the steps of performing the reception of data through the net work, inputting image data obtainable in accordance with the designated input mode, managing the storage of the data received in the receiving step and the image data inputted in the input step to the memory, and intervening between the operations of the reception step and the input step in accordance with the storage management in the controlling step. With the method thus structured, the compression ratio of the input image is heightened by changing the current photographing mode if the added value of the estimated reception data through communicating means and the data side of photographed image predetermined by the current photographing mode should exceed the remainders of memory in the storage, hence making it possible to implement the compatibility of immediacy between the image input and the communication by dealing with any sudden reception during photographing.
Abstract:
An information signal processing apparatus according to the present invention is arranged to receive, as an input, an information signal to temporarily store therein the input information signal and to temporarily store therein management information prepared during a recording of the information signal in the recording medium, thereby recording the temporatily stored information signal and management information in the recording medium. Accordingly, it is possible to record an information signal having a large amount of information in the recording medium without lowering a recording speed and it is also possible to easily reduce the size, weight and cost of the apparatus.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a device for personal communication, data collection and data processing, which is a small-sized, portable and hand-held work station comprising a data processing unit (2); a display (9); a user interface (10, 11); a number of peripheral device interfaces (12, 17); at least one memory unit (13); a power source, preferably a battery (3); and an application software. According to the invention the device also comprises a camera unit (14). The camera unit (14) comprises a camera (14a), preferably a semiconductor camera, and optics (14b) connected thereto, which are placed in the housing (1) of the device. Alternatively, the camera unit (14) is fitted on a PCMCIA card (15) which can be connected to the PCMCIA card slot (16) of the device. An object of the invention is also a PCMCIA card (15) provided with a camera unit (14).
