Abstract:
An apparatus for forming a pattern has a light source, a scanning unit, a memory, a pulse data selector, a control pulse signal generator, a control pulse signal generator, a writing pulse signal generator, and an optical modulator. The time-interval detector detects successively a time-interval that is a pass-time of the beam in each of a series of fine sections. The pulse data selector selects a set of pulse data, corresponding to the detected time-interval, from a series of sets of pulse data. The control pulse signal generator successively generates a sequence of control pulse signals in accordance with the selected set of pulse data.

Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention provides a scan line controller for use with a laser scanning device. The scan line controller includes a pulse width modulator system to receive a pulse code, including a first pulse width modulator to receive a first dot clock and a second pulse width modulator to receive a second dot clock, and to provide a video driver signal to a laser unit to provide a scan line from the video driver signal. The scan line controller further includes a space insertion/deletion unit configured to adjust a scan line length by inserting or deleting one or more delays into the first and the second dot clocks.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a clock-generating circuit, which generates dot clock pulses for driving a light-emitting element employed in an optical-writing section of an image-forming apparatus and has a function of canceling f&thgr; property errors caused by a f&thgr; lens employed in the image-forming apparatus. The clock-generating circuit includes a digital-delay dot clock adjusting section to adjust timings of rising-edges or falling-edges of the dot clock pulses generated by changing a selection for a plurality of delayed-clock pulses, which are generated by delaying clock-pulses, outputted from a reference oscillator, in slightly different delay times; and a controlling section to control a selecting operation for the plurality of delayed clock pulses, performed in the digital-delay dot clock adjusting section, so as to compensate for f&thgr; property errors caused by the f&thgr; lens employed in the optical-writing section.
Abstract:
The multicolor image forming apparatus according to the present invention comprises openings near the edge of the laser beam scanning start side, near the center, and near the edge of the laser beam scanning end side, on the photoconductor belt. The multicolor image forming apparatus measures time intervals from the horizontal synchronizing signal to the detection of the scanning start-side opening, the center opening, and the scanning end-side opening, respectively. The multicolor image forming apparatus calculates the function indicating the scanning speed at time t along the surface of the photoconductor, to correct the function indicating an image clock frequency at time t.
Abstract:
A central time-shared data processing system organized for character analysis and coupled to a number of remote document scanning stations each including a drum document feed, the drum being rotatable in small incremental steps, and means operable between steps for scanning the document along a path parallel to a line of characters on the document to produce data identifying graphic figures for analysis by the central processing system.
Abstract:
A facsimile device is provided which sends data signals onto a transmission line at a constant speed even though the scanning speed is varied along the scanning line. Video signals derived by scanning the subject copy are sampled, and the sampled data signals derived from each scanning are stored alternately into one of two buffer shift registers. While one of the two registers is storing the data signals, the other register send the data signals at a constant speed onto the transmission line. The sampling pulse train and the pulse train which is used for shifting the register which is storing the data signals are frequency modulated in accordance with the scanning speed of a scanning point on the subject copy so that the stored data is speed corrected at the time of storing.
Abstract:
A flatbed scanner document scanner includes a large format document scanner body accommodating a rectangular rigid frame with an upwardly facing plane face and a rectangular transparent plate for supporting a large format document. The rectangular transparent plate overlies the upwardly facing plane face all around the metal frame. The scanner also includes a movable carriage configured to move along and below the rectangular transparent plate and carrying a line camera extending across the rectangular transparent plate. The rectangular transparent plate and the metal frame are bonded together by a hard glue seam that runs on the upwardly facing plane face of the metal frame. A predetermined deflected shape can be formed when the bonded plate and frame are turned upside-down. The rectangular metal frame can deform under its own load to a cambered shape, a flat shape or a less deflected shape when turned upright in a normal position.

Abstract:
This invention is directed to an image printing apparatus which can print images without any halfway offset or obverse/reverse pixel offset at a low cost. An image printing apparatus includes a clock generating section which generates a dot clock as the basis of each pixel forming an image, an image printing section which prints a one-line image in a main scanning direction in accordance with image data with reference to the dot clock output from the clock generating section, and prints a one-page image by repeating in the sub-scanning direction one-line image printing performed in the main scanning direction, and a clock control section which changeably controls the frequency of the dot clock during scanning of one line in the main scanning direction.
