Abstract:
This invention has as its object to obtain a high-quality read image from which dust or scratches have been removed by an image reading apparatus which reads image information on a transparent original by synchronously scanning a light source unit and image reading unit. To this end, upon reading a transparent original, infrared LED chips on a dust/scratch detection LED substrate and a transparent original illumination lamp are turned on to make alignment between the LED substrate and the image reading unit, and dust/scratch detection image information is obtained by synchronously moving the light source unit and image reading unit in the subscanning direction.Subsequently, alignment between the transparent original illumination lamp and image reading unit is made, and image information of the transparent original is obtained by synchronously moving the light source unit and image reading unit in the subscanning direction.
Abstract:
A template for an image capture device comprises a body having at least one support member for supporting at least one object, the at least one support member movable relative to the body to facilitate movement of the at least one object toward a platen of the image capture device for imaging thereof.
Abstract:
A backlight module with two translucent faces applicable to operations of scanner is used for scanning of transparent documents. The backlight module has a shell and a light source unit disposed in the shell. The shell has a first translucent portion and a second translucent portion corresponding to each other. The light source unit in the shell can emit light via the first translucent portion and the second translucent portion. When the backlight module is used for scanning of a transparent document and the transparent document is placed outside the first translucent portion, the user can preview the content of the transparent document before scanning via the second translucent portion.
Abstract:
A scheme for obtaining an original image free from any dust or scratches on a film by scanning a film original or the like with visible light and infrared light has been proposed. This scheme suffers problems, i.e., a large memory size and long processing time since original image data obtained by infrared light must be stored. To solve such conventional problems, this invention provides, e.g., an image scanning apparatus which has a light source for emitting visible light and invisible light, scanning means for scanning an original image irradiated with light emitted by the light source, and control means for controlling the scanning means to scan the original image irradiated with the invisible light, and then to scan the original image irradiated with the visible light.
Abstract:
A scanning auxiliary frame includes a frame and a window sash hinged on the frame. There is a torsional spring close to the hinged location of the frame and window sash. The window sash is urged by the torsional spring and opened in normal condition when it is not retained by a bolt assembly located on the frame. Thus the window sash can be opened easily, to remove a document from a windowpane of the frame.
Abstract:
A clamp for fixing a photographic slide and/or a photographic negative includes a carrier and a cover for fixing the slide or negative onto the carrier. The carrier includes a first guide for holding the negative, and a second guide extended from the first guide for holding the photographic slide.
Abstract:
A transparency adapter for use with a scanner comprising a scanner light source, a scanner platen and a scanner lid. The transparency adapter comprises a light table comprising a stationary light source separate from the scanner light source. The stationary light source comprises a light table operating state for illuminating transparent media for viewing and a transparency adapter operating state for illuminating transparent media while it is being scanned by the scanner, thereby creating a scanned image of the transparent media, the scanned image having an output orientation. The transparency adapter further comprises at least one mounting device on the light table to hold the transparent media in an input orientation during the light table operating state.
Abstract:
The image scanning system (52) of the present invention scans slides and film strips containing photographic images and creates a corresponding plurality of digital representations of the photographic images. The system (52) includes a touch screen monitor (96), a computer (54), a scanner (62), a high speed interface (112) and a printer (98). The scanner (62) includes a light source (172) for projecting light through the film strip. A light sensor (124) senses the light projected through the film strip and generates pixel data. A film drive advances the film strip between the light source (172) and the light sensor (124). A lens located between the light source and the light sensor directs the light projected through the film strip onto the light sensor (124). The pixel data is transmitted through the high speed interface (112) to the computer (54) for processing operations. After the pixel data has been processed, digital images are displayed on the monitor (96) and may also be printed out.
