Abstract:
A system for self-aligning a raster input scanner in the slow scan direction where, at start of scan, a target having a variable density image is scanned first until a preset target image line is obtained and the position of the scan carriage registered; then from the registered position, the platen is scanned through a predetermined number of scan lines; following this, the carriage is reversed and returned the same number of scan lines where the target is again scanned and the target image line obtained compared with the previous target image line to determined if a valid scan cycle has taken place.
Abstract:
Amounts of read position errors in subscanning direction with respect to respective scanning positions of line image sensors, which are provided in parallel with main scanning direction, are found in advance by a number of scanning lines. In actual scanning, output image signals from the line image sensors are delayed, in respective main scanning positions of the output image signals, by respective line numbers corresponding to the respective found amounts of read position errors in the subscanning direction, and are output.
Abstract:
Apparatus apparatus for reading a color image by color separation with plural linear image sensors. The positional registration of color-separated images is achieved by reading a reference mark.
Abstract:
An apparatus for moving a unit to execute scanning includes a scanning unit including a motor, an encoder for outputting a signal according to movement of the unit, a detection unit for detecting a current supplied to the motor, a speed control unit for executing a speed control of the motor according to the signal output from the encoder and the current detected by the detection unit, a movement control unit for setting a threshold value, moving the unit by driving the motor, by using the speed control unit, and a current control unit for setting a value greater than the predetermined value according to the threshold value and value of the current detected by the detection unit at a predetermined timing during a time period while the unit is moving.
Abstract:
An image reading apparatus, an image reading method and a program are provided for favorably correcting color misalignment in a sub-scanning direction of a read signal read by a plurality of line sensors without increasing a circuit scale or processing time. To accomplish this, the image reading apparatus sets, as a reference signal, the read signal that is output from one of the plurality of line sensors, and detects a correlation between the reference signal and each of a plurality of read signals output from line sensors other than the one of the plurality of line sensors of a plurality of lines that are displaced in predetermined line units from a line from which the reference signal is read, and selects a read signal having a high correlation with the reference signal as a read signal from the line of the reference signal.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-reading device, an image reading method, and a program which correct suitably a color shift in a sub-scanning direction of read signals read by a plurality of line sensors without causing increasing of a circuit scale and processing time.SOLUTION: The image-reading device makes a read signal from one line sensor be a reference signal among a plurality of read signals output from a plurality of line sensors in order to align a line position of a read signal of each color by correcting a position deviation in a sub-scanning direction among line sensors, and detects a correlation between the reference signal and each of a plurality of read signals from other line sensors in a plurality of lines shifted for every prescribed line unit from the line where the reference signal is read, and selects a read signal of a line where the correlation is high as the read signal of the same line as the line of the reference signal.
Abstract:
A scanner unit as an image read-out apparatus has a document glass on which a document is placed, an exposure lamp for illuminating the document with light, a CCD line sensor for receiving reflected flight from the document and converting the light to electric signal, first to third mirrors for conducing the reflected light from the document to the CCD sensor and a light condensing lens for allowing the reflected light which is conducted through the first to the third mirrors to condense on the CCD line sensor. In a position away from a document effective area at which the document is set on a document glass a chart is printed or attached to allow diagnosis to be made for the "displacements" of scanner unit's respective constituent elements, that is, optical members such as the exposure lamp, first to third mirrors, lens and CCD line sensor.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when data read from a document conveyed by an ADF are stored in a buffer RAM and free capacity of the buffer RAM is decreased, reading is temporarily stopped however there are some positions where the document becomes unstable in behavior in a document conveyance path of the ADF and when the conveyance is stopped at such a position, images before reading stop and in resuming are not smoothly linked, so that the quality of image data may be deteriorated. SOLUTION: A threshold to execute reading stop processing in accordance with a position of a document is changed so as not to stop read processing at a position where the document becomes unstable in behavior. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternative and simple method for correcting skewed recording in an external drum exposure apparatus which exposes a printing original with N laser beams, and in each case, N recording lines are exposed simultaneously with each drum revolution. SOLUTION: The laser beams are modulated with image data that is taken from a stored image point matrix (23) along an angled read path, with the read path running through the image point matrix (23) at an angle formed by a helix, with respect to the circumferential line of an exposure drum (1).
