Abstract:
Residue calculating sections (22-1, ..., 22-k') respectively obtain residues which take a plurality of integers as modulus, with respect to a user ID. The plurality of integers are stored in modulus storage sections (21-1, ..., 21-k') and are prime to each other. Based on these residues and parameters stored in a coding parameter storage section (23), component codes constructed by continuous sequences of 1 and 0 using a predetermined number of bits as a unit are respectively generated by component code generating sections (24-1, ..., 24-k'). These component codes are concatenated by a concatenating section (25), thereby to obtain a code to be embedded, which constructs watermark information.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an authentication accounting method for suppressing the man-hours of revision of a picture when a new authentication or accounting method is added. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a hardware resource to be used by an image formation and an application for performing image forming processing, and performs authentication related with the execution of the image forming processing, wherein the image forming apparatus is provided with a character string display means for urging authentication, and for displaying a character string excluding the type of the image forming processing and a type character string display means for displaying the type of the image forming processing. Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for processing a multimedia signal comprising a watermark signal are described. The method includes the steps of: removing at least a portion of the watermark signal, and adding a new watermark signal to the multimedia signal so as to form a new watermarked multimedia signal.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement for embedding and detecting a watermark in an information signal is disclosed. The embedded watermark (Wi) is selected (13) from a plurality of watermarks (W1..WN) in dependence upon a property P of the signal. An example of such a property is the distribution of luminance values of the current video image as calculated by an analysis circuit (12). The corresponding watermark detector performs the same operation: the watermark being looked for depends on the same signal property. It is achieved with the invention that the embedded watermark changes from time to time as a function of the information signal content, so that it cannot easily be hacked.
Abstract:
The computer-implemented method for tracking the distribution of company documents carrying a graphical information added to the documents e.g. a company logo or a confidential indication comprises the steps of generating modifications of the original of the graphical information, associating each graphical information modification to a different one of a plurality of potential distribution channels for the company documents, inserting the modified graphical information in a document whose distribution has to be monitored, by rendering the graphical information in accordance with its respective modification upon generating the document by a source which is part of the respective distribution channel, comparing the graphical information of a distributed document or copy thereof with the modified versions of the graphical information for detecting the source of the distribution channel used for distributing the distributed document.
Abstract:
The work to be protected is digitized (10) and a baseline watermark is derived (12). A watermark offset vector is created (16) and then stored (18). The offset vector is added to the baseline watermark vector to generate a modified watermark vector (20). The baseline watermark vector is replaced with the modified watermark in the digitized work (22). And, finally, the watermarked work is returned to the original form (24).
Abstract:
A watermarking system comprises an encoding data processor operable to generate at least one marked version of an original item of material by introducing one of a predetermined set of code words into a copy of the original material item. The code words are generated from a pseudo-random number generator initialised with a seed value. The seed value is used to identify the marked material item, from the code word produced from the seed value. The watermarking system also includes a detecting data processor operable to identify a particular marked copy of the material item by recovering a code word from the marked material item and correlating all code words in the set of code words with the recovered code word. The detecting data processing apparatus also includes a registration processor operable to associate samples of the original material item with corresponding samples of the marked material item to which corresponding code word coefficients may have been added. By registering the original material item with the marked material item, a likelihood of correctly identifying the version of the marked material item is improved, reducing a false negative detection probability.
