Abstract:
An improved pouf or soap-holding lathering and scrubbing device which can conveniently hold a bar of soap and create copious aerated lather when wetted and massaged or manipulated comprises a sheet of mesh material which is formed or folded into a compact mass or arrangement. The sheet is formed or supplied in an endless loop or ring which is then compressed in a direction parallel to the sheet to form a ring of compressed or folded mesh material that has a recess. The compressed ring is then secured in its compressed state by two or more ties. A cord can be threaded through the compressed ring and cinched by an O-ring or other device to enable the cord to hold a bar of soap in the recess.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an ocular device including a first structure (135) formed of a first material providing a first shape to the ocular device prior to positioning the ocular device on the surface of the eye, a second structure (112) formed of a second, different material having a tubular structure and a lumen (113) through which the first structure extends, and at least one therapeutic agent is dispersed within the second material of the second structure. The first shape of the ocular device conforms to a second, different shape after positioning the ocular device on the surface of the eye. Upon being removed from the eye, the ocular device retains the second shape or changes to a third shape different from both the first shape and the second shape. Related apparatus, systems and method are described.
Abstract:
A sealing assembly includes a component, a polyvinyl chloride foam gasket, a double sided acrylic tape, and a butyl tape. The component has a wall, an interior space defined by the wall, and an opening extending through the wall into the interior space. The wall has a rib extending therefrom and surrounding the opening. The gasket has a base, two sides, first and second ends, a length, and a groove formed therein and defined by the two sides and the base of the gasket. The groove extends along the length of the gasket. The gasket is positioned along the rib such that the rib extends into the groove, the gasket extends around the opening and the first and second ends of the gasket abut.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a packaging laminate (10, 20, 30) including a rigidifying core which comprises two rigid outer layers (13, 14) of which one of these two layers consists of a layer (14) of mineral-filled polyolefin, as well as a bulking layer (11) disposed between the above mentioned two rigid outer layers. According to the present invention, the bulking layer (11) consists of a non-woven material. The present invention also relates to a packaging container preferably for liquid foods which is produced by fold forming and sealing of the sheet or web-shaped packaging laminate.
Abstract:
A method for positioning side panels during manufacture of a pant includes positioning the side panels on side panel transfer devices. The side panels move perpendicular to a pant transport plane as the pant is transported in the machine direction and the side panels reside on the side panel transfer devices. The side panels can include refastenable fastening components. The method and apparatus can move the fastening components closer together in the cross-machine direction or maintain the fastening components at a constant cross-machine position while the side panels reside on the side panel transfer devices.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of producing an air bag having a three-dimensional shape in the inflated state and intended for an airbag module. According to said method a two-layer strip of material is produced from which individual air bag cut-outs are cut in a continuous manner. The material layers are joined together along sealed contours and the contour edges formed by the seam joining the material layers are trapezoid in shape. The aim of the invention is to avoid folds and folded overlaps during the production steps. To this end, in the area (23) of the corners of the long side (13) of the trapeze the cutting line of the air bag cut-outs (11) to be cut does not correspond to the contour edge (seam 12) and is instead guided inwards in a triangular fashion (shoulder 16) so as to create the height of the three-dimensional air bag. To close the air bag the resulting cutting edges (17, 18) are then joined on each material strip (21, 22).
Abstract:
An elastic band sealer for forming a continuous non-overlapping band from a source (3) of material in which the band sealer includes apparatus (22) to extend a length of material from the source, apparatus (15, 16) to cut the material into a strip after it is extended, and apparatus (40, 41) to fuse the strip into a continuous non-overlapping band. The band sealer can also include apparatus (19-21) to measure the extended length of material such that it may be cut into discrete strips. The apparatus for fusing the strip generally includes a heating head (41) and additional apparatus (32-35) which rotates the ends of the strip toward one another such that the heating head can fuse the strip into a continuous non-overlapping band. A method of forming a continuous non-overlapping band from a source of material is also considered, which includes extending a length of the material from the source, cutting the material into a strip after it has been extended, and fusing the strip into a continuous non-overlapping band.
